Random Irritations

People at petrol stations who leave their car at the pump while...topping up the engine oil, topping up the ad blue or topping up the screenwash.
Move it 5 yards into the parking bays you morons so the rest of us can fill up 🤬
That's the benefit of EV's. You have soooo much time to do all this while the car is charging. (well, at least the screenwash). ;)

My wife gave up on going to a gym recently with this being a key factor. She had her circuit but kept being held up by people machine blocking in this way. She reckoned half of the people there didn't actually do more than a few minutes of exercise but by simply being in the room they could say that they had 'been to the gym.' Whether that was to tell their friends or to kid themselves 🤷‍♂️.

Exactly why we built a lifting gym at home. My wife can do her powerlifting training in half the time it took her to do it at the gym because she is not waiting for equipment, racks etc. When you work full time and can only train after work, that hour plus she saves makes a huge difference plus it is only 10 yards from the door to the gym. Yes, getting decent kit to set it up was not cheap but just with the saving on gym membership, it will be paying for itself soon.

If you don't post a selfie how do we know it's real! 🤔🤣

I realise the irony in what I am about to say, posting on a social media platform (although I do consider a forum to be “social media lite”)

But I find social media a strange concept, its not really social in the normal sense and the idea of posting the mundane minutiae of daily life that many people do, to a bunch of complete strangers for the most part, is just bizarre.

Its like “dear diary” for some folk.

Very different to how it started. Now it has been taken over by advertising and influencers it is just another form a marketing media and there is little social about it anymore.

Remember the days when people didn't want to know what you had for dinner....breaking news, they still don't

I am going to go against that one slightly. I have found some great restaurants based on friends posting pictures of the food and also great recipes from mates posting pictures of new ones they have tried. Yes, I do not want to see your standard mid week spag bol but I do want to see things that are different and interesting that I could then try.

Couple that with admitting your in box is always open … I am sure you may have got someone’s attention

My colleague I've never seen him move so fast 🤣

I said to the wife tho he spoke a lot less than the twins whenever they come find you on the loo so... 🤔🤣

Or pictures of your kids going to school the first day of term. Or dressing up for world book day.
Or just basically anything about your kids.

Probably a tad harsh, but they’re not my kids, why would I give a flying fig about what they are up to?

Edited: I have been harsh there, and slightly hypocritical as I have posted a couple of snippets about my boy impressing me.

As you were.

The toilet is not a sanctuary when it came inside the house … I now understand the benefits of an outdoor privy

All the socials are just a pr tool to make everyone think your great and your life is great.. when reality is something else.
