Random Irritations

I pop to Sainsbury's regularly. I always see the same manager outside on this phone having a cigarette. I wonder how much work this guy does in a day?
Ha, we quite often drive past our local independent DIY shop and the manager is always outside vaping, even in the rain.

Bunkered Pod - ❌ haven't tried this - don't know the people and the majority of episodes look far too long.
Fozcast - ❌I've watched him playing golf on YouTube, his podcasts look a bit long though.
Beefs golf club - ✅ Big fan but they've effectively stopped for the time being, as John Robins went on a stand-up tour and Beef is working on his golfing comeback.
Rick Shiels - ☑️ I do listen occasionally but they tend to be a tad long at just over an hour.
Football daily - ❌ looks boring 😂
Rough Cut - ❌ too long
The football Diary - ❌ don't know who the people are
Peter Crouch - ☑️ I've tried it but it didn't completely grab me, and a lot of the episodes are too long.

The one I listen to most often is The Rest Is Football at the moment (Lineker, Shearer & Richards).

Give the football diary a go - the people hosting are irrelevant, they have weekly eipisodes and cover the prem mainly.

Football daily has some good and some bad episodes but you can dip in and out at your own leisure. Majority are 30-40 mins.

Overall - if you want a celeb's pod then im not your guy but these are all great pods IMO - long pods do not bother me - enjoy them more really

I find beefs golf club awful ATM with Jon not there. Beef is terrible on his own

I listen to Rick weekly the long ones I've just started to have to listen to on more than one drive to work 😂

Why do we have such a blame game in The UK?

Looking at The COVID inquiry and the amount/cost it is taking to line peoples’ pockets.

Surely like most things hindsight is wonderful and would people in general, who have perhaps made a mistake, do anything different knowing all the circumstances.?

Of course the majority would.

You're not wrong, he's a bit wooden when he's got to read stuff that he's prepared, and he lacks the wherewithal to move the discussion along when it's lagging a bit.

I think the idea is to learn from the experience and not make the same mistakes in future.
After completing any major operation in the military, we would hold a formal “Lessons Learnt” exercase to try to make sure we didn’t repeat errors. After a while they were renamed “Lessons Identified “ because we didnt seem to be capable of learning!

The Chipping Forecast is good. Andrew Cotter and Iain Cartering are knowledgeable and Eddie Pepperell‘s take on things is usually interesting.

Seems to me that when doing the sort of deep dive root cause analyses that is require of the Covid inquiry, it’s important to separate out the processes and systems from the people and behaviours - then analyse/assess/stress test the formed independent of the latter. The former could be absolutely on the button, but if the latter is imperfect then problems. If the latter is perfect but the former is flawed then problems will arise but can usually be managed, albeit sub-optimally.

And with Covid…this is all going to take time, time, time.

PS4 disc drive seems to be broken. Keeps spitting out the disc right in the middle of a game so I get kicked out. Don't really want to buy a PS5 so I guess I'm stuck only playing games I can download now. ☹️
