Random Irritations

No, never come across them before.

Do they currently have something of yours?
They do nearly all white goods manufacturer deliveries, pharmacuticals deliveries and much more. They were hacked, and ransomware demanded. They said go forth, so everything is being done by pen and paper whilst they build a new software system.

Cut the grass for the first time in about 4 weeks, due to being away and it raining a fair bit of late. Took best part of 3 hours, even on 5 setting, usually do 3 in summer. Wouldnt pick up the grass, mower kept cutting out due to the thickness of the grass amd it getting stuck in the drum. Time for its service I think.

What are the odds on them finding that the pen & paper system turns out to be more dependable than a software based one?

Very slim considering its outdated, and yes hacking can happen it's less likely to fail.

Cloud based systems are the way forward with auto backups.

Email receipts easy to have a copy of and present.

Much less chance of human error aswell

Unlikely I'm afraid as too many people need to be able to see progress rports and the like for goods.

At least they stood up the the hackers, there was another logistics co that went bust a few weeks ago due to the ransomeware demands.

My apologies for failing to add a smiley to my earlier post.
I naively thought it would be obvious it was a joke - albeit based on how often IT systems get in a pickle.

Tricky thing the ransomware attack, my Brother was in Vegas a few weeks ago and he was telling me MGM were paralysed because they refused to pay a ransom, ended up costing them $100M.
Caesars Palace paid a $15M ransom the week before and avoided the chaos.

Standard of driving out there sometimes. Especially when it rains people just seem to forget the simple things

Earlier traffic was bad, turns out police had closed one turning of a mini round about. Simple what to do? Go the other way .. even if you don't know the area you turn off and pull over somewhere safe if you need to check where to go

Not this one. Good 3 mins that driver was there faffing around deciding what to do blocking everyone else going left

Mental
