Random Irritations

Humour exceeded the irritation, but a visitor at St P today parked his buggy on the road by the starter's hut this morning. I drove up in the car and he looked at me slightly annoyed.

"You have taken a wrong turn, you need to back up," he said.

"Actually mate, this is the road to the driving range, and you're blocking it" I replied!😄
Yes happens a lot, they do give you really odd looks as you drive up.

The junior doctor interviewed on Radio 5 today who was going on strike over pay and conditions. He's recently qualified and has been in the job for 9 days. Did he forget to ask at his interview what the pay and conditions were before he took the job?
Or maybe when he started studying to be a doctor, the financial situation was much better in terms of matching inflation and there wasn’t a cost of living crisis?

An expensive couple of weeks. First found out we will need a new breathable membrane or whatever it is laid on the roof on our block of flats (12 apartments), which means full scaffholding and tiles off etc, and that is circa 4k each flat!!

Then Zara's car - which is seriously in the dog house with us - a 2015 Mazda CX5 Diesel need a new tubro - 10 hours of labour and £2800 later the car is back! Aparently, as we found out, turbo failure is not uncommon in these and disel Mazda's do not have a great reputation for reiliability - so would advise leaving them off your shopping list. Need to try and get at least a couple of years out of this now for payback, then on to pastures new!

Having a pub dinner in Anstruther, reasonable food. Came to play and it was like reading War and Peace. How much do you want to pay? 20/15/10/% Other amount!

Not really into tipping but thought we were in USA, not E.Coast Scotland.

Seems a bad year for wasps. Had to remove all my not yet ripe strawberries and flowers to stop them causing havoc at the allotment. It was like a nest of them amongst the ripe fruit. Also barely get through a workout in my gym (conservatory) without one or two coming in to add to the effort level as I frantically try to kill them.

Today I'm picking cucumbers and bumble bees bumbling around doing their thing. We happily co-habit. Wasps though...just want to be nasty.

Wasps are great, it's the cucumber that I'd have got rid of!

Not too bad here. I’ve only had to clear 5 small nests this year - it was 8 last year.
