Random Irritations

My son comes home from school & tells me they’ve been watching Mr Bean today.
Apparently they’ve done all their work for the term.
More like teachers can’t be bothered & are on the wind down for their hols.

Just like its always been surely? finish the syllabus then toss it off. Bring in games, watch videos etc.

We have a fish guy that comes to our Village once a week. The same applies to a local farm shop.

I asked whether they do an itemised bill and the answer was no. The butcher just bangs some numbers on a calculator and quotes £35.45 or whatever. I have no idea of checking and when asked she just laughed!

Whilst there cannot be any true figures for their tax my question is: Is it legal not to let a customer have an itemised bill?
Perhaps you could buy your stuff one item at a time.

UPS - on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being perfect they're minus several million.
Bought a wedge from Golfbidder on Monday, it was shipped Monday and I even got a message from UPS saying it was out for delivery...the tracking confirmed it.
Half an hour later and I get an email saying there's a delay and my delivery status will be updated ASAP
After 30 hours of nothing I have a moan to GB and they get on to UPS..
Half an hour later I get a call from UPS...very sorry etc etc..parcel is on the van and will be delivered in 2-3 hours....
Well guess what..?
3rd time in a row that a delivery involving UPS has been delayed....
Its come to the point that if a company uses them I simply won't buy from them..no matter how good a deal may be....
Bunch of Peasants.
I think we should all get on Goldbidder's TrustPilot and tell them how useless their choice of delivery service is. Then they might notice?

I left school in 98 & the things they teach them now are 🤯
My lad would definitely benefit from another week of learning rather than tossing it off for 1wk before a 6wk hol.
Playing devils advocate, if he’d benefit from another week’s teaching, maybe taking him out of school for a week wasn’t the best idea?

Good point.
But we needed a holiday, mrs had a hard time with her mother having a stroke just after Christmas.

Plus have you seen price of hols in school holidays?

Bush fires. There was one yesterday afternoon just over a mile from us. Helicopters were up dipping into a lake close by, and looked to have it well under control. Sadly not quick enough before it took out broadband for the town.

BBC Breakfast misleading/lazy reporting (again). Referring to the report into supermarket pricing and clarity of pricing information/offers. Declaring that a consumer purchasing a small glass bottle of Coca Cola would be over 300% more per 100ml than if they bought a 2l plastic bottle...

They are so scary, we had a remote villa in Portugal and were woken at 2AM by the fire brigade, had to evacuate quickly, told to grab a blanket and passports only and get out quick! Luckily no major damage as the wind changed and they got it under control, but wow that was scary.
