Random Irritations

My wife made tea tonight, some sort of Chinese chicken curry. I'm not sure what she put in it but it's lethal in the atmosphere. I'm coughing, my nose is going as though it's full hay fever. The food is actually nice, the side effects are not.

I wouldn’t complain, if I were you. If she’s anything like my good lady the response will be “You can always make your own.”

Expecting your bum to look like tbe Japanese flag in the morning?

I’m 45 and never heard of the fella! Is he the brother of Zeba Dee!

I see the Celebs who’ve passed thread usually have a cursory look and move on I’ve hardly ever got a clue who any of them are 🤷🏼
Youre 45 and know who Zebedee is,
(Magic Roundabout '65 to '77), but you've not heard of Cyril Nicholas Henty-Dodd?
Something's not right here.

Not really considering the Magic roundabout was on repeat for decades and then released as a new film in 2005 which my oldest daughter loved as a 5 year old so Dad used to have to watch it every weekend!!

Seats on Ryanair. How uncomfortable can seats get? Luckily only had to endure for 2.5 hours and then back again.
A friend of mine boarded to find that the seating padding had been removed because "someone had been sick on it".
The flight was full and he spent the flight sitting in the metal bucket.
On returning home and complaining he was offered a free flight to the value of...

Stick with sprouts, LT, at least you know what you're going to get with them! (y)

Ryanair do a job. They are a bus that flies. It costs buttons to use them in comparison with airlines where you are looked after better. If you just accept that they are a low cost option which are only designed to get you from a-b cheaply then they are excellent at what they do.

Not any worse than the likes of EasyJet.

Since I retired I (we) normally fly with Jet2. On this occasion Jet2 was within a few £s of Ryanair but Ryanair's times were much more convenient. I can't say I have noticed any significant difference in prices. We used Ryanair a couple of years ago to go to Lanzarote and I could hardly stand up after the 4+ hour flights
In addition Jet2 have dedicated check in areas at both ends (Leeds/Palma) so if you turn up early you can get rid of your bags.
But I must admit everything else was good.

I live outside the UK and receive the OAP. Every couple of years or so I receive a " aren't you dead yet" letter from the DWP. I then have to fill in a " Life Certificate" which has to be witnessed and signed by some local worthy and sent back. I can see why this is necessary but the system of verification seems to be remarkably out of date. Compare this with how easily I renewed my passport where a much more complicated process is carried out entirely on line.
I must look on the bright side, at least I'm still around to be randomly irritated.

I wonder if the new digital ID card, if it actually gets through which I suspect is 50-50, would bring an end to that. In my mind, if you can log into that, biometric ID needed, then tick a box online, that should be enough. We will see.

I too live outside the U.K. and received the proof of life letter in Feb. I rang than and went through a few security/proof of life questions there and then = sorted.
