Random Irritations

Thankfully don’t go to service stations

The Costa App has allowed me to get a lot of free coffees with them

We have a Starbucks at the new EV station which is 24 hour - decent at silly o clock in the morning
You snob! Nothing at all wrong with service stations. They serve essential needs,as comfort breaks, a rest from the drone of the motorway and much needed refreshments.
Often, if we have plenty of time we'll plan a stop at a National Trust for a break.

Thankfully don’t do any motorway driving beyond a visit to the folks so no need to go to the services

Must be a nightmare for anyone who has to frequent them regularly

How can you criticise them if you don't go in them?
You're impression of a nightmare is a bit dramatic concerning service stations.
As I said, nothing wrong with them for a quick break.

Sorry the nightmare was talking about motorway driving

And about 8 years ago we used to provided the wifi in the Moto service stations - not pleasant when having to go to their comms room

Some are certainly better than others. We drive up to Scotland and back twice a year on average, so we've sort of pinpointed some of the nicer ones we don't mind stopping at now. Tebay and Killington for example.

Tebay is very nice but now over crowded due to positive publicity. Killington Lake is our stop off as it is very pleasant and also much quieter. It's good when you find a winner (y)

Sorry, don't understand your last paragraph. Prove the WiFi? Comms room?
😵‍💫

My old company provided the wifi for Moto Services - a few times we had to go to the sites to check things out and in many areas hygiene not the greatest

They do have a captive audience hence the prices so I’m thankful that I don’t go near them often or have to use their facilities too much

Agreed, some are outdated and not the best.
You get to know the better ones and which to avoid.
Down south, if travelling north, Cobham services are good and have entrances travelling either north or southbound.

Aah, I get you now. But remember, a lot has changed over the last 8 years.

So all along we heard 22b black hole in the budget and hence VAT on schools and other things

Just saw the news.. 40b black hole . So taxes likely to go up . what kind of black holes do we have around here?

Irrespective of who is in power. Rant & Irritation over

I’m with you on that regarding the coffee. Costa coffee is absolutely crap considering what you pay for it, Starbucks is ok but Greggs and McDonald’s coffee are equally as good and cost a fraction of the price so that’s where I go each time.

Unless of course there’s a Cafe Nero, because their coffee with an added Rapsberry croissant !!!!🤤
I rate Costa and Cafe Nero well ahead of all the others for taste. HID and I always choose taste before price
