Service stations have been ripping our eyes out for years. Greggs has helped reduce the pain for travellers, an alternative for those who want it. I'm not a coffee snob so I am happy to get a Greggs coffee over a Costa / Starbucks one. Makes a big difference if you are a family stopping for a break.

Service stations are the same as airports for me, £10 for crisps and a drink? No problem, I'm on holiday.

Got dragged into the one at Kinross a couple of weeks ago, was with a group staying at the Green Hotel playing both courses there over two days, had an hour to kill so went to the Greggs stand:
Latte and Lorne (square) sausage roll please, Sorry no square sausage today !

I’m with you on that regarding the coffee. Costa coffee is absolutely crap considering what you pay for it, Starbucks is ok but Greggs and McDonald’s coffee are equally as good and cost a fraction of the price so that’s where I go each time.

Must have been teleported to an alternate universe where Starbucks coffee is better than Costa (or anyone else's, for that matter).

Genuinely I cannot stand Costa, every Costa I’ve been to it just tastes like it’s burnt! I’m not a huge fan of Starbucks but I’d choose it over Costa. In fact I’d go without if Costa was my only option.

It’s always a Nero for me much prefer the flavour and taste but guess we’re all different you like a Costa I think it’s crap

It's basically a very nice farm shop rather than a franchise style service station. It's expensive, but then most services are. Go to your local farm shop, go to the cafe, imagine you are on the M6, job done
