Sounds like you gave him a great life in your family.Our dog hasn't been right for a while, arthritis taken over his back legs and just generally getting on abit. Went off his food this morning, and we sadly lost him at lunchtime. Just went into the garden where I begged him not to leave just yet, and he just sort of went as me and the wife held him.
He's been through everything with us, the ups of bringing the kids home from hospital, he was the first one in the family they met, to the lows of other family members leaving us, such a great way of comforting us without ever saying a word.
This pain is unreal.
And he shuttled off naturally in your arms. I'd find great comfort from that, eventually. I hope you can.
