Random Irritations

Usually enjoy the news for a short time except Kay Burley.

However today has been “the pitts “ . All morning will they, won’t they, well all week actually and how long will it last.

I knew I would not be watching tomorrow as something is happening around 3000 miles away. Lo and behold I turn on tonight and there is some sort of concert a day before. At least it took me less than a minute to get through Sky News @9 p.m!

I'm not watching any news for the next few days. Am sick to death of it!

I weatherman got it right here, 41C.....I reckon you fry an egg on your car no problem, still too hot for the beach.

We’re going through a prolonged cold snap here in southern Spain. 6* this morning, and it’s been like this for about a month, maybe 5 weeks now. Equally, by 12 noon it might hit 20-22*.

BBC have been advertising their coverage for weeks...even the ad turns my stomach. Today will be wall to wall. Tomorrow will be wall to wall about what they covered today. Wednesday will be about 50% of that, Thursday we might just get some coverage of home/Europe news...

Not for the first, and not the last, time...EVRi. Paid for next day delivery. First update is your package is delayed (aka nicked). Then I get an update to say your courier will deliver between 11:30-12:30 today; I got that message at 11:17am. Did it arrive? Of course not.

The smart money says the package (my son's new basketball shoes) are currently on some scrote's feet. :(

Got free Apple Fitness for 3 months as we got an watch for Christmas. Some good routines in there.

However, it has very cheerful American trainers from LA who keep shouting 'encouragements' and how much they are 'loving this burn', 'pain is good', 'activate your glutes' and such trash. It must be great if you are a gymboy but for a middle age man with little gym experience, it is offputting. I dont go to his pub and shout.. come on Kyle, feel that whiskey burn the back of your throat.. those chips are not going to dip themselves in curry sauce... etc

I'm not unhappy here, its just a bit tedious when you're excited for a new job and still stuck in your old one :ROFLMAO:
I understand that, and I'm not having a dig....just frustrated after 3 weeks of almost being horizontal after breaking my back falling from my loft hatch, and being self employed:)
I just wish I could win the lottery:)

Don't we all mate! I grew up with a self employed landscape gardener as a dad - I understand your stress levels are probably pretty high without being able to work!

Wishing you a speedy recovery!!

Notice periods...

Mentally I'm gone already, physically 9 more days to go...

My last one was 3 months. Thankfully I’d saved some leave and as we were moving to Spain we came out here for a couple of weeks, then back for the last 2 weeks. Having Christmas in the middle of it helped too.

Yes I believe the BBC use some French company for their forecasts.

edit - from Wiki - On 6 February 2018, BBC Weather changed supplier from the government Met Office to MeteoGroup after an open competition.[1] The Met Office had been the provider of weather information for 94 years.[2][3]
So they had to go with a company who had little experience of forecasting UK weather over one (The Met Office) that had 94 yrs. Brilliant. In any case. I was once told that British weather is generally the same two days out of three - so if it was different today (Monday) from yesterday (Sunday) then tomorrow (Tuesday) will be same as today…then Wednesday it is likely to change. I guess this might work when the weather is changeable/unsettled rather than when a high pressure system sits over the country.

Be careful what you wish for, I won last week and it is not going to change my life.

Don't believe the Met Office is any better than the rest. It's in Exeter, about 15 miles from where I live, and can't even get the forecast right here!
They could just look out the window to realise their forecast for what's happening RIGHT NOW is wrong.

The BBC still include the Met Office, along with their equivalents in the Netherlands and Germany, but their key provider is the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, based in Reading, Berkshire.
