Random Irritations

The only thing I don't like about this video is the wannabe policemans attuide. He was cycling the other way. He's turned round. Looked in all the window (not focusing on the road ) and stopped at the first car who had their phone.

Not defending the driver, he is in the wrong however the guy filming is a twonk

Well I guess he wants to do something about the way people drive after a family member was killed by a drunk driver

We all see it - people on phones when driving and police don’t have the resources, who knows maybe his actions may end up saving a life

We made the decision to get rid of sky last month - had the full package plus sports plus broadband from them for 10+ years.

Broadband was always stable but quite poor speeds in our area.

We chose to effectively go to freeview plus subscriptions - the main culprits - Netflix, Amazon, Disney and a new broadband deal.

All major broadband providers told me - we don't offer fibre to property to you, best speeds we can offer is up to 35mb - much like Sky did. I checked Openreach's plans for fibre upgrades and nothing to my area planned at all - great! So I signed with BT.

Discuss this with a couple mates, and one of them calls me last week saying he's in the same boat as me but remembered registering his details with a company called BeFibre once who offered great speeds but hadnt yet got their network set up locally. Quick call and fact finding mission and low and behold, they offer fibre to property to both our houses (different sides of the city) as they have their own network!

So, ive cancelled BT 4 days after it was installed (14 day window for cancellation for no fee) and next week my new 900mb internet is being installed...

All for the same price per month.... What are the major suppliers doing?!

Similar thing where I live Full Fibre Broadband is cheaper, as a new customer automatically and by negotiation on contract renewal plus it is only an 18month contract.

Where I live nr Yeovil virtually every outlying village has got or will have full fibre whereas BT only offer cable to house at the moment (apart from my neighbour who had his broken cable replaced with fibre).

The governments promise was for there to be at least one fibre company to offer it everywhere. Looking at the amount of work it takes not surprising Open Reach has not done it here.

The price of eggs 🤪
2 things that I m getting irritated about
1) Co-Op has this 'happy egg' or something similar organic range. It is large box and decently priced. Got it home.. and it has 10 eggs rather than 12.
2) Sainsbury's "mixed egg" box always seems to have more small eggs than average and rarely any large eggs

But sometimes it maybe needed

The easiest solution is - don’t use your phone in your car when the engine is on , then there would be no need for anyone to highlight the indiscretions
No, its never needed. Policing is the job of the Police, not people with a grudge or nothing better to do.
I also think you'll find it's keys in the ignition is the reference point.

Odd reference point, I haven't had a car that you could put keys in the ignition for a long time.

So £400 fine and 6 points is the punishment for first offence at 0 mph?
The minimum for first offence is £200 and 6 points, exactly what this driver got, it would be no different to me or you.

The costs and victim surcharge are in the guidelines given to magistrates.

He’s been treated no different to anyone else.

If this Mikey character or anyone else reported me and I was done, I’d be absolutely fuming, but it would still be my fault.

Like I said in my opening post, he’s viewed by different people in different ways, he’s reported over a 1000 motoring offences since he started doing it, thousands of points awarded to drivers and hundreds of thousands of pounds taken in fines/costs etc.

He maybe a nuisance, but he also may of saved lives if he’s changed the attitudes of any of those he’s caught.

Does this count for people reporting drivers who have caused crashes and put other peoples lives at danger?

How do they enforce that now with keyless?

Blue lights!!!
This morning a biker caught me by surprise. He was about 2 cars ahead of me and I saw a blue light. I thought it was an emergency vehicle somewhere and was looking at my mirrors. Could only see other cars. It was a built up area, so we were just doing 10mph..
Happened a couple more times.

As i moved up, I realised that the cyclist had a flashing Red at the back.. nothing unusual about it. but he also had a small blue light strip which would intermittently flash along with the red. He was some regular middle aged joe going to office rather than a copper. I thought Blue was reserved for emergency and was not just for Christmas... am i wrong?
