Virgin Media has just started digging up the housing estate where I live to install fibre.
The estate has had fibre for a few years (Jurassic Fibre, now part of Cuckoo). I have FTTP with them - £20 a month.
Given how much Virgin charge and how poor their customer service is, chances are there will be low takeup.
So Virgin is making a mess of the place for no good reason.
Their customer service is the worst I’ve experienced.
Sadly I have to use them as all other broadband providers are rubbish in my area.

Other providers may use the Virgin fibres. Just like Tesco mobile uses the o2 network.

Double standards in the media.
Gregg Wallace innuendo- bad, very bad.
Bake off innuendo- funny, good laugh.
I've been thinking about this a bit. The Wallace allegations do involve sexual harassment of junior tv production staff rather than mild on camera innuendo. I guess that's a significant difference.

Apparently it's only 27 days until Christmas so 26 days left in the DFS sale. But their new one will start in 28 days.
Today is Black Friday. The day after Thanksgiving in the US. Everyone else using it can just go and do one.

It's not the innuendo that the issue though is it, it's all the other stuff thats apparently been said and done.
I am not referring to the other stuff, that is clearly wrong. What I am referring to is the reporting of Wallace saying to a female celebrity that he would 'happily eat their little tart' and being slagged off for it. Much more (and worse) is said every week on Bake Off and that is seen as great humour and edgy - by the same publications. Is it too much to ask for to get balanced reporting?

This is where laws need to be passed to force companies to share equipment, even if they won't let them use the same cables at least let virgin pull their cables through existing runs rather than dig up the place again

What a waste of resources

Thank god for Spanish building regs. Shared trunking is mandatory here. And conduit is also mandatory in new builds - no channels needing to be created unless it’s to a new location. We’ve even got conduit pre-installed in the back garden.

Sadly, for them, the high prices are because of poor harvests for the last couple of years. The farmers do not have enough olives to become rich, when they do have enough, the price will drop, he said optimistically.

Been to a tasting of this year’s harvest. I hadn’t realised how many different olive oils there are, nor how different they taste. Your basic oil is meh, but the top stuff is liquid gold and is unbelievably good.

But the Bake Off presenters haven't been accused of off camera sexual harassment of junior staff, so there's no imbalance to correct when you compare those two scenarios.

You're seeing something that just isnt there. No one's accusing Pru, Paul,Alisson or Noel of any kind of similar behaviour to Wallace. There is no balance needed

But surely innuendo should be treated the same, irrespective of who is making the jokes and what they have or haven't done elsewhere? The standard to which people are judged should be the same. As it stands, people (the media) are trying to make out one party to be evil when he is making the same sort of comment that is celebrated on another program.

And this does not mean I am in any way condoning the other things that Wallace has been accused of.

The innuendo isn't relevant, that's not what the accusation is.
Don't watch Scott, Henry, carragher and Richards and their conversations about Brest if I were you. 😅
