Lots of '0% balance transfer' cards being offered... What I would love is someone who offers to transfer an unsecured loan. Say I took a personal loan from post office for 10k for 4%. Why cant i shift it to 0% card card. I will still paying the loan, but not at the interest. Not sure why such a product does not exist.

In addition to the comments above, the two products are underwritten quite differently as the repayment arrangements and payment periods are (generally) very different.

How long are the free interest periods on the cards you've seen? Probably shorter that the usual term for a 20k p/l😉

You can do balance transfer to bank accounts with MBNA , I used it to buy the wife's car. They charge 4% transfer fee and then it's 0% for a year

Cleared it couple months ago

Still structured as debt against the CC though and outside of the IF period would attract interest and payment like a standard CC.

One thing I wouldn’t want is a minimum payment against a £10k balance on a credit card once that IF period expires.

Definitely, only useful if you can definitely clear the balance in the free time

I sold my car to a guy at work and he needed a month to pay so I borrowed it and the 4% fee I made back by sticking the money he gave me in a high rate bond then cleared the balance

People's attuides towards driving. It's awful. Driving home in the rain because of this latest storm. Roads were flooded so bad underpasses were down to 1 lane as the water was above a traffic cone height

Easy just drive sensibly

Nope apparently cutting up, over and under taking.. speeding all just accepted behaviour

Had an appointment to donate blood this morning. After a long wait, got seen by a nurse who asked loads of questions. One was "have you done anything strenuous today?".

I told her I'd been to the gym beforehand. She said you will need to see a doctor. Another wait, then eventually get to see him. He asks if I've had anything to eat since I was at the gym. I say no and explain that I had come straight from there. He says in that case, I'm afraid we can't take your blood as you are at a massively higher risk of fainting.

Which is all fair enough, but they send you a letter, a long questionnaire and 3 or 4 texts before your appointment, none of them say avoid strenuous exercise before donating. A waste of my time and theirs.

I've made another appointment for next week, no gym beforehand!

An absolute twonker and been rightly called out by the local farmers and nationally as well. He has know apolgised and offering to pay for the damage. But potentially could have undone all the goodwill built up after last week's protest and donation of 6.6 tons of feed to City Harvest.

On the flip side , lady called into Jeremy Vine yesterday when they covered this story and reencountered how her 16 year old son waded through flood water to pull out a stranded motorist with his tractor

As an aside the vid below is from a dairy farmer who wasn't having the best of days

Txt this morning

"Hello this is DFS we will deliver your sofas between 7-10 tomorrow"

Ah I think. I hope it's nearer 10

Open the link

You are delivery 1 of 12. Between 0642 and 10

Tomorrow is going to be very fun!

I managed to get a colleague to come in at 5 for me so I can get home to help the wife and I moved all the old sofas out the way just so it's easier

Not being feeling the best now for a while, so have been getting blood tests over the last 6 months, last set took 8 days to come back, phoned yesterday afternoon, not back yet, then a letter comes in the post the same day to book an appointment as doctor wants to discuss last results.
Next appointment available, 19th December 😩🤬

You can but it can be an expensive slippery slope, about a year ago I did this after not being able to access GP services, after a £400 blood test and 2 x £125 private GP appointments I was told that I needed a raft of other tests that could top out at about £2500… I ended up going back to my own GP and having to wait and worry.
One year later I’m still having tests. (Abdo and Renal ultrasound today) Docs still none the wiser but at least I can afford it 😁

All I can offer you is that someone has seen the test results and if the tests show that some intervention is urgently required then the system kicks in and you would be seen quickly. NHS are actually quite good at that. Having an appointment with the consultant in 3/4 weeks would, in my view, indicate something needs attention but not immediately life threatening. Not a lot of comfort there I know but, from my own experiences, that's how it seems to work. Hope all goes well.

Consistent daily messages for almost 8 weeks reminding me that my GP offers a walk in flu jab.

A) if I didn’t respond to the first 2/3 then why send a message daily.

B) how can you offer walk in jabs when people can’t get appointments.
