I stick to 1st weekend in December for up and 1st weekend in Jan for down
Putting up the tree is effort and I have managed to put that off until the day before Christmas Eve before now. Wife is dragging us back to Scotland again on the 23rd this year, so I've made an argument for not putting it up at all. She wasn't happy with this though. Also we have a toddler now who will absolutely pull the baubles off and toss them all round the house. But still it must go up apparently.

My lot like to do it all together so I get to sit on the sofa

As well as watching 90 minutes of turgid 💩 at West Ham on Saturday I was further irritated when I got back to the car to find I had a puncture, so by torchlight I had to use the tyre sealant kit supplied instead of a spare. 10 x more irritated now as I’ve been told the tyre cannot be repaired after using the kit, so £140 for a new tyre + £30 to replace the sealant kit! 🤬🤬🤬

Ditto my Bruv, 7th of December, that's when the tree goes up. (y)

Ditto me, December 11th though as this is my first Xmas with my new partner and I need to go out and buy all new tree decorations etc (my ex and I used to buy one each year on holiday etc so they all have sentimental connections) then this year I may be willing to make a day of it and we can go out and get a tree and a whole new set of decorations and put them up.

Buy a spare wheel and tools on eBay it’s cheaper.

You would think, however the aa and such are getting called out more and more to people who's wheels have fused on due to alloy wheels and Modern brakes.

We tried to take my mum's wheel off for a spare and even my torque wrench just snapped in the end

Tyre shop 2 seconds with an impact driver which people don't just carry

I bought one for the previous car (Volvo Xc40) but it doesn’t fit this one (Nissan Xtrail)
Quick look on eBay, looks like £140… probably have to bite the bullet.
I always buy a spare wheel.
You can leave the wheel in quick fit and pick it up later if you get a puncture.
You can’t do that if you only have four wheels?

It’s an option with most new cars but you have to pay for it.
Money maker imo all cars should have a spare.

Do all new cars have space for a spare? My car is 10 years old so don’t know

Why would you leave it there? Fix takes 10 mins? If that and if you leave it there then you are just driving around without a spare anyways

Ah this is a perennial issue. Sorry to be slow on this, but sealant is a PR exercise and really isn’t that effective only really working on 5mm or less diameter holes.
Most spares have been dropped due to size and weight. They are the first thing that the package team get rid of so they can claim bigger luggage space.
My view is take a pump, pump up and go , stop pump up and go leave the nail in .. then get to the tyre shop for a repair.

That’s what the fella at the tyre place said, I should have pumped it up without the sealant and see if it would have held. With hindsight that makes sense, I just thought the tyre was repairable. Lesson learned.
