Random Irritations

In the film, their house is huge, they have a big family, go on expensive holidays. How can they afford it, what do they do?

We found ourselves watching it again last night on Disney and I just asked, what do you do to afford a place that size?
Looked for clues through the film and none the wiser
Saw all the mannequins in the basement but dismissed being a designer

Still irritated 🤔😔

There is a squirrel currently banging his head against a wall right now.

Okay, the main characters in the film are called the McCallisters. The Macually Culkin character, see earlier picture, is called Kevin McCallister. Their house is huge............

See the film, please, for all of our sakes 😭
Wasn’t the house recently sold?

Putting the car into drive instead of reverse when there’s a 70ft drop in front of me. Thank god for a solid fence post well concreted in.

Worryingly, after 45 years of accident free driving this was the 3rd incident in 3 months. Bumpers, back & front, looking a bit battered.
Don't take this the wrong way, but maybe time to have a think about whether you are still fit enough to drive?

Not sure how it works in Spain, but I find it ridiculous that in the UK, you can keep driving into your 80s and 90s regardless of your health.

Or maybe manufacturers could sort out the gear selector so if you want to go forward, you push the gear selector forward and to go backwards, you pull the selector backwards.

I appreciate the concern - not took the wrong way at all. Although I’m only 64 I am very aware that I had a number of concussions and a couple of skull fractures playing rugby, and there’s plenty of evidence going around that suggest early onset dementia etc is a possibility.

With the above in mind I had a driver’s medical a couple of weeks back, and mentioned the above as part of the ‘any other business.’ There’s two clinics in a large town nearby specifically set up for driver’s medicals - it’s a requirement over here once you reach a certain age (repeated every 5 years currently, but changing to every 3 years soon.

Bands who claim ‘anniversaries’ when they haven’t actually done anything for years. This morning it is Bananarama claiming they have been together for 40 years - there are now only 2 of them and they haven’t done anything for about 30 of the 40 years!

I really wish they had them here. I know one guy in his 70s who is as blind as a bat, yet continues to drive. He is an accident waiting to happen.

Saw them at an 80’s night in Nottingham about 10 years ago. Not a memorable group. However ABC absolutely smashed it. So did Rick Astley. Al tell you who was complete and utter rammel, Paul young.

Don't worry too much, I remember my 18 year old apprentice showing of with his cool sunglasses on attempting to reverse.
He sat turned round in the drivers seat left arm on the passenger seat, revving up foot down to the boards.
Straight forward though a white picket fence into a field.
My next door neighbour (60) did much the same but he went straight into his up n over garage door.
I must admit I had a good snigger at both.

Finding an ideal new car and it being over 300 miles away.

In fact, 2 of the 3 on my shortlist are over 300 miles away.

A lot of dealers will trailer cars if it means they get the sale.

My mate just bought a Jag F-Type from Leicester, he asked the dealer what the options were and they agreed to get in on a low loader and up to him if he could wait a week. Which he was happy to do.

I bought my last car from a dealer 300 miles away. Got an indepth walkround video of the car, all seemed fine. They delivered it on a truck, was very easy and everything was as it should have been.

Our neighbour uses the extractor fan in their en suite as white noise for their one year old to help them sleep but it creates just enough noise that we can hear it from our bedroom, too.
Have a word with them and recommend an old phone with a white noise app. Worked wonders for my grandchildren

No!!!

Stops you from knocking it out of gear if you need to break very heavily in an emergency and your weight is being thrown forward.

Mind you back in the 60s/ 70s DAFs worked that way
