Rain, rain, rain!

Well, Aylesbury Park has finally filled up.
Either the front or back has been open all through this deluge but today it couldn't take anymore.
Almost certainly closed tomorrow as well so plans are being hatched to play elsewhere.
Double the monthly rainfall and officially the wettest January.....

both courses open at my club, full tees and greens.

played a practice round on the Wandlebury course today as I have my first comp on Saturday and I'd not played it yet, in fantastic nick considering the amount of rain over the last few weeks.

heavy footfall areas (near tees and paths between holes) a bit damp but apart from that not too bad at all.

Bad news - rain tomorrow evening

Good News - sun and dry weather with the odd light rain from Saturday through at Thursday

where you planning on playing Ian?

We managed to hold a Seniors comp on the back nine this morning, which wasn't too bad and no serious rain while we were playing. However front nine remains closed for the forseeable future and more rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow. :(

Was dry here today but cold biting wind. Trolley and buggy ban now in place. Rain supposed to be coming in tomorrow afternoon here. Thankful for how lucky we are here.

Played today, should've stayed at home. Was like a bog. Making plans for links golf only until this madness eases.

Our course is closed, but playing at Chiltern Forest tomorrow with Imurg. CF was one of GM's hidden gems in a feature a couple of years ago
Can't complain at £20 each
😎

Have you played there before ?

Front nine back open today, with the forecast as it is I'm guessing it will be closed tomorrow and open again on Sunday so I should at least get a game.

Trying to find a half decent course open this weekend in Kent is going to be hard. Will have to ring round tomorrow to see who accepting green fees. Even links courses have shut up shop, Princes been closed all week and now through until Wednesday and Littlestone and Romney Warren closed yesterday. This is getting depressing.

Although we have recorded a further 92mm (4 inches) of rain since our last course report on the 12th January which brings our total for 2014 to 180mm (7 inches), we remain fully open but carry only.

The drainage system and ditches introduced a few years back are really showing their true worth when most clubs all around us in the county are closed or have been closed for many days, if not weeks!

Very heavy rain forecast for this afternoon so will be interesting to see if we cope with that also as I have a match tomorrow at 09.30!
