Professional Golf

Superb exhibition of straight driving and holing out from Bridgeman.

I think he found every fairway on the back 9, with the chasing pack breathing down his neck, and he wasn't phased by Rory bombing it miles past him. It just made life much easier for himself, he didn't have to force it.

And then, when he started doing an Orikoru and leaving all his putts 3 feet short (sorry 😆), he was very solid under pressure. He confidently rattled the short ones into the back of the cup on 17 and 18, no dribbling up to the hole. Well played.

I didn't watch much of this tournament, but Rory looked good yesterday. Flushing it and also chipping / putting well.

I was pulling for Rory, but you have to give Bridgeman credit. I didn't realize he is from my birth state of South Carolina. I was so impressed with his putting on Saturday. It's so hard to win on the PGA Tour. While his Sunday round wasn't great, he did just enough to get his first win. It will be interesting to see if he maintains this level of play through the season. While I don't dislike him, I was glad to see Scheffler show he is human. He will probably win several events this year as he really doesn't have any weaknesses.
