I guess it all depends how you describe great.

- Headlines across the world?
- Largest TV audience?
- Largest attendance?
- Most pivotal for the sport?
- The only thing people are talking about at the club/range?
- Transcending the sport?
- The best of the best battling for the ultimate title?
- Most history or historic?
- Career defining for the victor?

Not sure what other criteria could be used but I’m sure there are some.

I agree with all the above.
I would also say that here we are on a golf forum and there is only 1 person talking about it.
Compare that with how many were talking about the tournaments last week and that gives an indication in my opinion.

When people are at 19 under after three rounds on other tours it’s derided for being a birdie fest etc etc etc

I’m sure the Aussies will be enjoying because they love their sport but don’t go over the top

There used to be, when Liv first appeared and strong controversy followed it. Time has passed, Liv is now part of the professional golf world. It should be entirely possible to chat about all pro golf on this one thread without it becoming them and us.

There is a separate Liv thread for some of the wider issues regarding that tour but this one is about tournament golf across the tours and Liv is part of that.

As is shown by post 6,629, this thread also covers the ladies tour. All pro golf ...........

I find it’s the same every year.
For me the Pro Am doesn’t work.
When they play the US Open there it’s normally really interesting and a real tough test for the players

This is exactly what my point was the other day. I genuinely think the Pro-Am events in general are a bit . You can’t get int following the golf properly even after the Am’s disappear on the weekend. Pebble is a great course when it’s set up for US Open, but this event is just a bit meh

Don’t help nobody is really challenging Bhatia at the moment.

I must be missing something.. How many amateur shots have you actually seen
. It's like they ain't even been there. I'm not actually a big fan of pebble beach. I do like you get ocean views in most holes. Its just too early in the year for it weather wise..
It looks pretty wild out there with the wind.

For me it’s the time it takes to get round the course.
It may not be any longer than normal but it seems like the players are hardly moving when you watch it.
