I think it’s crossed the line this year. But a lot of the players seem to still enjoy playing there.

That’s exactly what LIV is trying to recreate hence their “party holes” to encourage this - it’s awful to see
Party holes are fine and the WM has been fine in the past creating a great atmosphere.

It seems to have crossed the line there this year.
Your right its very sad to see.
Reports online are saying they stopped serving alcohol later on in the day.

It crossed the line a while back when they started to throw beer and cans at the players on the tees or the green

It’s encouraging the behaviour and it’s the not the sort of “atmosphere” i like to see at a golf event

The WMPO is a car crash. They've completely lost control over the last couple of years and the whole course has become overrun with drunken morons shouting abuse; and the excessive focus on 16 makes the coverage almost unwatchable for the golf.

And yet...........it has more spectators than any other golf tournament. It's taken a run of the mill tournament and turned it into something unique. It's a tournament people look forward to each year.

There are regular tournaments all year long, one that is a bit off the wall makes a fun change. Just don't watch it if it offends you 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are probably a normal number of golf spectators for a PGAT event. The problem is that in addition to them are huge numbers of people with absolutely zero interest in golf descending on TPC Scottsdale for a drunken abusive frat party. It stopped being a fun change of pace a few years ago, and it's getting worse each year.

Approx 700k spectators each year. Does it matter if they only have a passing interest? Would you rather 10k per day and an atmosphere like a morgue? We have that at the regular events. This is different, embrace it or don't watch it but there is no way the event is going back to how it used to be. It must be a commercial gold mine.

Why are you talking about having golf with a morgue atmosphere or taking it back to a "normal" tournament? This is a just a deflection that avoids addressing any of the issues. Like it or lump it, and alienating the real fanbase, shouldn't be an option. There is a balance to be found and this tournament has completely lost it in recent years.

What was fun is now just unpleasant. The brakes should have been applied when a volunteer got brained by a half-full beer can a couple of years ago. Instead, they glossed over/celebrated it and the atmosphere has degenerated further.

Anyone know why has the Sky coverage of WM has not started at 3.30pm?

Because they are set by the coverage given to them by the PGAT - they don’t have their own cameras or production there as well as having their schedule set
