playing with the same people detrimental?

For me any chance to play is a good game. I couldn't count the number of times I've just turned up as a solo and made up a 4 ball, or even teed off solo and met up with someone mid round.

Nowt wrong with playing with mates, but if I'm out there to play golf, then that's what's important.

As for high / low hc partners. If it's a competitive match, then give me the low hc oppo every time. I'll take him with my extra shots. But a social round - who cares.

I really enjoy the challenge of playing with someone off less than myself. They are a little more focussed and therefore so am I as I have no1 to carryon with. I would also be trying to beat their score, get inside them etc.

On the flip side, playing with a high handicap player can have 2 affects, they play too slowly due to the amount of shots and piss you off, or youre more relaxed because they wont mock you if you hit a dodgy one!
