Under WHS we actually have acceptable and non acceptable cards. Aceptable being Medal, Stableford or 4BBB with a score of individual 36 + or combine 42+.
So although your club may not be running competitions, if you play a game that is qualifying and the course hasn't been altered for the winter in a way they prevents you from entering cards. Then they should be entered.
Nothing to do with competitions or not, it is whether the course is or is deemed suitable or not for acceptable scores. If this is the case the tee markers must be turned off in the WHS portal to prevent scores being returned.

Well, it seems someone has bumped my topic from a year ago. But the upshot I was, I didn't put any cards in through the winter, and I later regretted that decision as I played poorly for the first six months of 2024 and couldn't play anywhere near my handicap. So this winter I'll probably keep putting them in regardless.
