Oooooooooto be a Terrier!

I always had a rule - when the 4th goal goes in - sing louder than the oppo fans...... :p

Tell ya what....if we go up this year and assuming you dont go down, then we'll go up to Yorkshire to watch the game next year......we'll listen to you singing louder than us after Jordan slots his 4th goal in.....play some golf and have a few beers........sound good?

Very good thought AW. I've seen Towns ups and more commonly downs! They are MY team, the best in the world. And that's why I'll always be a Town fan. I live there and most likely will die there and to me there is only one team to follow, the one whose name bears the name of my place of birth.

Amen.;)

I hear ya brother!!

I obviously live in London so I could have chosen Arsenal, Chelsea or QPR. Teams that have won things. No point supporting Spurs - they only win the Coca Cola/Milk/Worthless cup. No, for me it was Palace. I grew up one mile from the ground - the Mecca that is Selhurst Park! I could see the lights from my bedroom and, on a good day, hear the Palace faithful cheer from my garden. There was only ever going to be one team for me.

I simply don't understand the people who live in London and support Liverpool, Man U, etc. Why? Unless you have a very close family member from that part of the world then it's a local team every time. My Dad's from Leeds and I've got a Grandmother from Liverpool but it was always Palace for me. I don't care whether they win, lose or draw - the ground is part of my local geography.

I've drunk with the players in Croydon and played golf with them at Mitcham - could I have done that if I supported Man U or Arsenal?

I hope my boy takes up my love of the Palace - maybe then I'll get to meet some of the footie fans on this forum on our travels. Over land and sea - and Brighton......

BOSH! Sounds good to me.

Just a thought, how will you be when we smash you 5 - nil......

I'm not good with grown men crying......

I saw Reading play Huddersfield in a replay in the FA Cup back in the 80's at Elm Park. Strangest game I have ever seen. It blew a gale all game, and the the first goal kick into the wind blew back behind the keeper. Players were shooting from 40 yards downwind, and the ball was still rising when it went straight out of the ground. Game went into extra time and we managed to score the winner through Trevor Senior in about the only attack into the wind all night.

Huddersfield fans were none to happy, as they missed the last train home.

I'm not sure that Hong Kong United is a team I can follow as although born there (Imurg too)
We left when I was 3 and moved to Wycombe.

Yes the team hammered 6-0 last night by Uddersfield ( there is no H in Uddersfield)
But they are still my team
And next year we will get promoted
And my handicap will come down

Trevor Senior, now there's a name from the past. I'm sure I saw him score for the mighty Boro in the late '80's.

He scored in the play offs when Boro went up to the top division. A Reading legend and relaced Kerry Dixon as our centre forward. Scored over 150 goals for us, and a really nice bloke.
