If Trump sold Turnberry tomorrow I can see you lot saying that the Open should go there, what total hypocrites.

It should be played there.....full stop, regardless of who owns it.

Think you are missing the point

The R&A are not going to give The Open to Turnberry because of who owns it and the circus that will potentially happen if The Open did go there

If Mr Trump does sell up then the course would prob be added to the rotation again because those issues would have disappeared

“Who owns the club” is very much the reason why they don’t get the Open and it should be clear why

It's been held there several times, part of the reasons may be political why it isn't currently held there but the issues of access are genuine, There are other courses that are probably of equal or better quality that have never held the open such as Dornoch, Porthcawl and Portmarnock which also have decent claims but possibly other issues.

What annoys me most are the people who know nothing about golf dictating what and where tournaments are played because of their agenda.

Augusta bowed to the no black person is a member.......

but I take my hat off to Cyprus Point, rated number 1 in the US to saying to the PGA do not tell us who can be a member, and each year when the Pro's play Pebble Beach they go up and play Cypress Point.

And please do not come at me by saying I'm racist, I play a lot of my golf with black people, who stay at my home on a regular basis, just like I stay at theirs.

So the R&A know nothing about golf 🤔

No idea what the rest of the post is about when it comes to Turnberry and the Open

They have no black members.....so the PGA said no tournaments for them.

They said fine....we will let in who ever we like as members.

Pro's are miffed as they all say it is a great course and deserving of a PGA event.

I mean in 2024 I think that concept is just a bit barmy so they don't deserve a tournament.

Honestly I'm staggered at that. A course that doesn't allow black members in 2024, really?? If that's true it should be shut down by the authorities, let alone given a PGA event.
It's not that they allow black blue green yellow or whatever, it is the members who decides can join.

Tigger and the other top Pro's rush to play there at every opportunity.

It’s the US - and it’s a private club , they can allow entry to whoever they want unfortunately

Not sure what “authority” would ever have the power to shut them down

You've completely lost me now. I thought you were implying that they don't allow black members. If they just coincidentally don't have any black members then what is the issue??

No the PGA took their pro tournament away because they did not have black members, if you remember there was a huge outcry against Augusta because they did not have any black members.....

Hence all of a sudden Condy Rice became a member, bowing to the mob.

Bowing to the mob ?

Or ensuring equality and people aren’t discriminated based on the colour of their skin

But it’s all irrelevant to Turnberry and the Open
