Just visited the club and read the results sheets. Each class has a sweep which is won with best nett score and a second section for "twos".

The second class "twos" sweep has not been won for two or three weeks now and is sitting at £127 with tomorrow's money to be added as well . What is the most won at your club in a 2s sweep ?

In first class there was only 3 twos last weekend !!! The par is 71 but CSSS was 75.

About £10 ! We have five par threes, and one is 125 yards and always plays down wind.

We do have a hole in one sweep, which also wins the 2's sweep. That was won last year with over £450. About a week later someone got another and won about £30 !! Serves them right seeing as i had a two that time

Ours never rolls over, it's open to all sections. I had two last week and made 31 quid from them. A couple of months ago, I made 3 twos and got 18 quid total, captain went and had a hole in one.

There are a few guys in our club who are the same, I love hearing from their fourball partners when they have twos. for the sake of a quid. I see it as my personal savings for gear with my pro. I'd say I certainly gabby lost out on them since starting back at the game in 2006.

Re: Money for a " 2 "

Have to agree, our total entry fee is on £2 so hardly expensive, would be sooo upset if I got one and didn't enter. We only have two par threes 156 yds and 180.

Ours is open to anyone, and normally gets you between £8 and £15.

The least 2's I've ever seen was last week when there were 4, but only 20 odd in the comp.

I always enter the twos, not won one this year, played a few social rounds this past few weeks and had two of them! Plus a few more birdies on par 4s and 5s and an eagle!

I really love the effect the lessons are having here!

We used to have one in our Saturday morning rollup at my old club, and you had to win it outright as there was no splitting of the money. I won £70 once, and it lasted about an hour once I bought the drinks and then went out for dinner.
This has just reminded me that I had a two in a comp a little while ago, but as they are such rare things these days I forgot about it. Playing this afternoon so I'll see what I got when I get to the club.

We had something different today.

Put anything up to £20 in your shop account, and if you hit the green on our par 3 8th (playing about 185 today) the Pro doubles it for you.

Win-win providing you spend money in the shop.

Re: Money for a " 2 "

Well - I played in the medal today and didn't come close to claiming any of the prize fund. Not sure if anyone made one. Was on the 1st par three and approx 20 feet from the pin, left it short !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would be fined for leaving a putt short for a two in our group ;)

Re: Money for a " 2 "

Just an update. The second class twos sweep was finally won on Saturday. The lucky winner pocketed £180 !!!! :cool:It wasn't even a putt. I heard he missed the greeen and chipped in.

Re: Money for a " 2 "

We get ProV1s instead of money.

I don't enter, as I have millions of golf balls already.

That, and the fact that until the last medal, according to the club ccomputer, I hadn't had a two in a comp since 2007.

Those who have played golf with me recently can probably believe this.

Re: Money for a " 2 "

Just counted my 2's up for this year. All money goes into my pro shop acount. Thus far I have got £296.75p. Thats counting the £85 I got for my hole-in-1.
Thats not counting any vouchers I won through competitions.
So not a bad year, I have claimed back more than half of my yearly sub.
Not a bad way to save up for a new set of PINGS.
