Do you prefer playing against a higher or lower handicapper than yourself?

Personally I prefer playing against lower handicap players, mainly due to lower expectations on myself therefore feeling more relaxed and generally swing better. If Im up against someone with a higher handicap I almost become too confident and therefore take on stupid risk reward shots usually ending up in a disaster.

I just play whoever I get drawn about and don't really worry. Got to beat them all if you want to win.

Anyone can have a good or bad day so I agree with that.

I prefer playing some of the same or very similar handicap, makes for a much more fun match. Playing with someone who's handicap is far from yours does sometimes feels like you are just playing the course like in a stableford (although it was not true when I played against Midnight on saturday, we had a right tussle!)

I much prefer playing matchplay giving shots, preferably lots of them.

Fair play to them if they have a good day but I just feel happier thinking I'm the better golfer, even if sometimes it isn't true.

I'm giving 21 shots in my first match of our summer ko.

Let the golf do the talking, don't worry about handicaps. If they play better then they deserve to win.

I prefer next to no shots being given either way a scratch match best score wins. But if there are shots involved find it important to remember the shot holes so a check of the SI on the tee.
