There are dedicated websites set up with the same suspicions and also some with factual evidence that adds to people suspicions

I really hate that whenever this comes up some people who know nothing choose to indulge in such hurtful speculation. The McCanns have had to live with something that few of us can even imagine while at the same time having blame and suspicion levelled at them.
It's all unnecessary and unedifying. Personally, I have nothing but sympathy for them.

Phil, the implication of that statement is that he is some way involved - to state that on a public forum without any credible reason other than a feeling is crass IMO.
There are dedicated websites about pretty much every crackpot theory and conspiracy you could imagine, that doesn't give them any credibility though.

Suspicious opinions about the parents would be common purely down to missing persons history and cases of a similar occurrence.
No-one knows what happened to poor Madeline but I would be almost certain it has nothing to do with the parents.
They would have been interrogated together and separately to see if there was even the tiniest discrepancy in their witness statements.
People are just not clever enough to commit such a crime they would almost certainly leave clues and as has been said no stone will not have been unturned.
I fear the girl has gone forever so scaling down was the right call imo.

I don't know if that's what Paul was implying - he just says that there is something not right with him
History has shown us that it wouldn't be the first time that a parent has been involved in something like this
Two parents left their child alone and the little girl is missing - were they involved ? I don't know either way and when you read through everything there are a number of things that people could use to suggest or at least provide a basis for any suspicion
As far as I'm concerned the one person I feel sorry for is the little girl - and the parents at the very least are guilty of neglect by leaving her alone like they did and I still think that if it was two parents from a different background then believe they could have had the rest of the kids removed from their care.
