Whilst I feel so sorry that she has never been found the cost involved is excessive at over £10 million.

The officers involved are to be cutback from 28 to 4 and in the present economic climate with all the police cuts should have happened earlier.

What ever ones thoughts are about the whole case. I don't think that the British police can be accused of not investigating this case thoroughly.
Think you are correct in saying it needed cutting back.

Have I logged onto the daily express Web site by mistake? What about lady Di? It will be the worst winter ever as well you know. ;)

Read the story an hour or so ago and it seem so vent the McCann agree with the scaling back of police.

I don't think the UK police could have done anymore and I can understand at this stage why scaling down the size of the team makes sense, and hope that somehow new information will crop up at some point, to kick start fresh investigations

It's sad what happened, but it is about time to cut back on the cost. After 8 years is there really anymore lines of investigation to follow. If something else does come to light then it is still an open case, just one that isn't costing so much to run.

I have my own idea about what happened to that wee girl but folk go missing in the UK all the time but this has been one big massive case that's juts kept going. I have no idea what I'd do if it was mine, but there's just something not quite right with the dad.

Like father like son.

If ever this website needed a "WTF" icon for a comment made, this is it.

Instead I'll just do this..

I just find that her dad doesn't act like a dad who has a daughter missing. I have two daughters and I'd be living in Spain looking for her.

I think that if you did that you probably wouldn't be doing much looking yourself - and any chivvying along you might be able to do to the search could just as well be done from home. Also remember that the McCaans have two other children to look after. You'd go to Spain and leave your wife to look after - and bring up - the other children by herself? I don't think I'd do that myself - regardless of how desperate I might be. Besides - they have strong religious faith and that will give them strength to come to terms with not being able to be in Spain all the time hunting for their daughter. Not being in Spain does not mean they have detached themselves from the search.

Have you informed the police of your suspicions...?
