LIV Golf

If a tour needs a you tube golfer to get more eyes on the tour then does that speak volumes about the product on offer

I have no doubt it’s good for Shiels financially - will it increase views on LIV , maybe not

The DPWT have done really well with their social media content
If LIV can do the same then they're on to a winner, no?

Jon Rahn barely moved the needle for LIV. Maybe this YouTube influencer can do better at giving the viewership a boost.

Not really a crossover when players are only playing on appeal

They are being invited to play by the DPWT according to a few sources.

I suspect they will play under appeal until the merger is finalised or abandoned between the PGAT and LIV, then the fines will be dropped and players will either be allowed to play across the tours, or they won't be.

John Rahm in an interview with Joe Pampliano has revealed that Callaway are going to be fully supporting Legion XIII. "It's essentially going to be Team Callaway" They'll retain the Legion XIII name but will be prominently supporting the Callaway brand.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see other major brands doing the same with other teams

I stopped watching Rick Sheils a while ago , but I do watch a fair bit of golf on YouTube tube. The tours do nice highlight videos of individuals and the events.
It's a perfect medium for it.

Which would suggest 35 people in every ten thousand that follow him, have strong enough views on LIV to unsubscribe from his channel.

I think that's a win for LIV and a win for Rick to be honest.

Don’t think it’s ever that simple

Wonder how many of those 3 mil have bothered to watch videos in recent years , how many subscribe and then disappear

How many actively watch him

His “announcement” had 365k views

So did 10k of them unsubscribe 🤔

Quite possibly.

That's the worst case scenario right?

Given the players and locations he will have access to for his content over the next 8 or 9 months, I suspect his watchtime and YouTube revenue will move up a notch or two.

Will it move up ?

He has done multiple videos with Pros in the past

With good results, scrolling through Ricks YouTube channel, it looks like his viewing numbers are generally from around 300k to around a million. When he’s featured pro’s on his channel such as Sergio and Tommy Fleetwood, the number is at the top end of that range, and when he’s hosted Bryson, it goes to another level.

It seems to be the more popular way for people to watch golfers , it’s quick more than anything , you can start to watch it and then go back and perfect if you want to just watch that one player

Prob more will watch Rick Shiels play some golf with BDC than they will watch BDC in a LIV event

How does that work with Hatton being such a prominent Ping player ?

Surely he would have to leave the team or start playing Callaway which I cant see happening.

You cant have a player on a Callaway backed team playing with another major competitor brand, its a bad look.
