LIV Golf

So far looking like Liv Golf have decided not to even mention the Merger in their broadcast.

Maybe in their post game show ?

Think they'd be best to leave it, just be more speculation.
Not normally a fan of the 'segments' but did find the skit they did on the 'big news' quite amusing

Valderrama is such a quality course, haven't had much time to watch much today but from what I did see, it looked to be playing pretty tough. Leaderboard looks good going into Saturday as well, but poor old Sihwan Kim is struggling again - I suspect he knows he'll be back on to The Asian Tour next year.

I wonder if there are negotiations in place for the UK event in the coming years - I'm not sure Centurion Club catches the imagination as much as some other venues would do, I'm sure there must be better options available.

There's a couple of loss-making Trump courses/resorts in Scotland that could do with the revenue.

Agree

Watched the whole broadcast and not even a nod to it, absolutley nothing.
And yes the Pat Perez piece was cleverly done when watching it live.

Certainly seems a lot more turmoil on the PGAT side around this merger..

Probably down to the fact that it was a LIV choreographed vid whereas the PGAT folk are interviewed by independent journalists.

That video is a parody...🙈

Liv haven't mentioned it once on their broadcast and their players seem very at ease about the whole merger whereas on the PGAT side it is causing mutiny around their tours hypocritical behaviour.

Tower = Reincarnation of Backsticks....
I'm certainly not, though I searched back in some of his (an assumption) posts and agree with some of what he's posted and disagree with others. I'm not a great fan of LIV, but am happy to watch it occasionally until the presenttion and pace gets to me. I prefer to see a little more than just swings and putts before hopping to another group. The team aspect is not for me - too manufactured - but is obviously part of the future funding plan.

I'm not sure the merger will actually get through Congress or anti-trust bodies, in which case I think PGAT will have to reduce their ultra-high-value events, as, imo, that seems to be what is pushing their finncial viability. Until it gets through those bodies, there's little point speculating about the future structure, coexistence or the demise of LIV, as that's also unknown except to a handful, if that, of folk. It will all come down to (value for) money in the end.

It's amusing to read the super-pro and super-anti posts though. Many of the super-pro posts certainly seem to be bot-like or, controversial or inane, just to keep the thread active or near the top.

I can remember Tiger speaking out at an event when he came out with the "... and they play blaring music" line - in reference to LIV. He didn't look comfortable saying it, and this might explain why..

No wonder he's laying low, if this is a genuine document, it's a bad look for the the PGAT, who have scripted him, amongst other things, to use his own child as a tool against LIV.

Liv Golfs future or future structure is clouded for sure.

However the success of Adelaide and Andalusia show where Liv should be channeling its efforts.
Strong golf nations that have been starved of the worlds top golfers like DJ, Cam, Bryson, Brooks etc for many years.

South Africa would be another obvious one with having some of the that nations favourite strongest golfers, South America would be another although golf is still a minor sport there.
