When a serial philanderer, dangerously excessive speeder on public roads, with a DUI conviction, and someone who is well-known as a grade-A input-favourite pejorative, is the poster-boy for your Tour, you have no place to dictate what it and what isn’t controversial
Especially when your Tour does deals with an equally abhorrent regime in quasi-communist China and your strategic partner (DPW Tour) has a history of events in Saudi Arabia
Or perhaps you think it’s controversial because it’s challenging what 1) you think 2) the golf establishment status quo

All the bile has come from the opposition to LIV in the last 12 months, more fool you if you fall for the nonsense that the likes of Lynch, Chamblee, Rory and Tiger come out with on the matter.

Phil, open your eyes. It’s toxic because the PGAT and their media - have tried to fend off the threat of LIV by associating it with every single bad thing they can, with regards to the list you gave above.
The series isn’t toxic, the players aren’t toxic, the golf isn’t toxic, the fans aren’t toxic - but you want to believe it all so you can stay loyal to the existing product.
The Tiger thread reiterates that point.
When Reed dropped a tee in front of Rory - he’s a villain.
Tigger makes a tragic attempt at humour and it’s all good.

Can you confirm which bunch are submitting lawsuits ? Is it LIV players or PGAT players ?
Can you confirm who provides the full funding for LIV and also can you confirm what their Human rights attitude is ? How do they treat the LBGQT ? Is that also the fault of PGAT ?
Are the media or PGAT at fault for the murder of the journalist

Crikey... where does it say anything about you?? I thought it was a simple analogy.
Let me explain it more simply if that is what required.
An entity appears with a stated aim to shake up the status quo. (Not the rock band) When the status quo refuse to roll over, Liv go legal. (And lots of blubbering)
You cannot opt out, then litigate for being out!

You could argue Cantona didn't retire, because he found work as an actor. As I understand it, Bentley didn't retire. He ran a restaurant in Marbella, and invested in beach clubs. However, whilst he took part in that career, I think it was fair to say that he was not much motivated by football anymore
His Wiki (Bentley) does say he lost interest in the game.
