Liv always scheduled its events against the weaker PGA Tour events in the past but I dont think that necessarily put the right schedule together for the players.
Interesting that this weekends Liv Event in Vegas goes up against one of the strongest PGA Tour events in the Waste Management which of all the PGA Tour events is the most like a Liv Event for atmosphere.
This weekend you also have the Superbowl in Vegas so both tours events finish on the Saturday.
I guess Liv are hoping that the sports fans in the city for the NFL will decide to go and watch some golf while they are there.
That could lead to a very different crowd indeed.
Yes, Vegas is very different - mainly due to the ability to bet legally. I was there for a Superbowl weekend a few years ago (match was elsewhere) but have never seen so much cash being used to bet.A bunch of members from our place have just come back from a trip to Vegas and the place is going mental for the Super Bowl - lots of fan parks etc all over the place , hotels do events for it all.
There wasn’t much around for the LIV event but is suspect they will try and grab those that arrive Friday/ Saturday and try and get them in by selling the party hole etc - but those tickets i believe are expensive so will be giving away ground passes
It could work and could create a different type of atmosphere- whether that’s one for a golf tournament will be interesting.

I cant see them just giving away passes, that's not happened since the first season? Where have you seen that?
Surely its money to be made from US sports fans!
I can definitely see them giving away tickets for free, if it gets people into the event and looks busy that is a big plus for LIV that they havent had at any event really other than the Australian one.
If that’s the case, why didn’t they do that this past weekend?
Exactly that - the Mexico one looked like a ghost town and getting people into the grounds will give the picture that it’s a busy eventI can definitely see them giving away tickets for free, if it gets people into the event and looks busy that is a big plus for LIV that they havent had at any event really other than the Australian one.

there could be many answers to that question.
But having an event in Vegas the same weekend as the Superbowl gives them quite a unique opportunity to have every hole lined with a crowd and create a real atmosphere on the course. If they can do that, it would be great to see.
Well if they do give tickets away, it’s gonna be made public. Expect we’ll start seeing people reporting on free Liv tickets imminently if that’s the case.
Possibly, they might go for something under the radar and just advertise within Vegas for those who are there already.

I don’t think you can expect to give tens of thousands of tickets away to see a world class golf event and keep it under the radar. But, we’ll see.
