Read the small print folks
key quote in statement below

"There will be separate event oversight to create cohesive schedules"

Alan Shipnuck.top Journo believes
"Still going to be PGAT events and Liv Tour events but all owned by the same umbrella company and funded by the PIF and existing PGAT sponsors.
Liv events to be broadcast on PGAT TV networks.
Liv events to replace lower level PGAT events (John Deere Classic etc)
Players will be able to play on both tours if they qualify or invited without retribution.

Top PGAT players are to be offered team franchises."

According to Jamie Weir…nope.

found out the same time everyone else did. Same with Tiger.

It'll be interesting to see his reaction in a presser when asked the question. As has been stated earlier, the candid nature of some LIV golfers, the fact that quite a few unexpectedly didn't bother with US Open qualifiers - it suggests to me that some may have been aware of what was going on. But that's just a hunch..

And I guess those lower level event sponsors will be offered commercial opportunities with the LIV events if they so wish? Makes sense..
I wasn't joking earlier about Rory either, Team Smash - Nike haven't denied any rumours, Matt Wolff has moved on - Rory had a huge Nike contract, he's mates with Koepka.....

Let's see what transpires...

Golf. Com quote

"What is LIV getting out of the agreement?

Is vindication and sweet, sweet victory not enough?

In all seriousness, LIV gets the legitimacy and longevity that, four hours ago, seemed almost entirely out of the question.

In the midst of a floundering second season, the upstart league gets nearly unlimited, long-term job security, and the opportunity to add the very best players on the PGA Tour to its weekly product.

You literally could not have written a better script for LIV."

Iif you think/hope Liv Golf events are not going away, its just being integrated to a new schedule and they become part owners in the world of golf.
They literally got everything they wanted in this deal.

The player reactions tell you everything about who feels got the best out of this merger.

Liv Golfers gloating
PGA Players fuming

Todd Lewis on Golf Channel.
"The Liv Golfers won the lottery today"
I’d suggest that’s because some don’t understand what is going on.

Gooch didn’t know he’d signed up with LiV by playing the first event 🤣

I can't help feeling Rory might have had an idea what was going on tbh...
Odd if he did. It was only this past weekend that he said it would be ok with Brooke's playing for the USA at the Ryder Cup, but he didn't want to see any LIV players on the European team. And then two days later..................................

Maybe not this year Rory, but 2025?

The Liv Golfers won the lottery when they got their invitations to play exhibition golf for tens of milllions of $$$

Saudi have clearly decided they want more than exhibition golf watched by 6 people on YouTube and have gone with the "if you can't beat em, buy em" approach.

LIVers ? There are no more LIVers.

Wonder what the Liv events of this new look golf world is going to be called.
Will the team names be changed, will the likes of Nike now look to buy a franchise as mentioned in the past ?

Bryson himself above saying he thinks they will still take their product round the world but it will look different, be rebranded in some way.

Shouldn't make any difference, the LIV turncoats won't show at OGA events as they wanted away to play less golf and shorter tournaments anyway.

Seriously though, I was speechless when it came out earlier, genuinely thought it was the parody twitter account PGA TUOR I was reading. Meeting at the RBC will be fruity I'd say and wouldn't be surprised if there are big name resignations from the tour.

Still felling a wee bit dumfounded this morning by yesterdays news
(like when you find out Santa's not real)

So many articles/words written online, some is news, plenty of ponderings and the rest (majority) is simply supposition/'reading between the lines' guesswork

Very interesting 2nd half of the year coming up when we learn what we'll be watching next season

Resignations, can't really see that as where would they go to? Likely be a fruity meeting as you say.

Edit: some info coming out

The heat off the players will die down east enough with money… but if what shipnuck says is correct about LiV events taking over the smaller events the schedule is going to be absolutely stacked will they have a proper end of season period now that would get a lot of them back onside I bet
