LIV Golf

No more free youtube streaming for the sportswashing tour.

I thought the coverage was going to be better than what we currently get to see on the PGA/European tour?

The deal is for the U.S only, right? Until they strike a deal to show it in other countries, I suspect it will remain accessible via You Tube or the LIV website.

Looks like no more YT.

How much have LIV paid CW to host coverage?

Who were CW competing with to get the coverage?

Also, if LIV is still going to be shown on the LIV website / Youtube, I presume CW didn't have to pay an awful lot to LIV. If they did, I'd have thought they'd want exclusive coverage?

If they’ve got exclusive coverage they’ll have to sell the broadcast on to worldwide platforms, because the CW app isn’t available worldwide, and I doubt LIV have gone for a package that restricts their broadcast to the USA, do you?

If Twitter is to be believed, and on this subject Twitter seems to be the gospel. Then no, there will be no more coverage on YT.

Just watch the viewer ratings rocket now we can’t see exactly what they are.

I wasn't actually talking about coverage worldwide, and thinking CW would have exclusive worldwide coverage.

What I meant was, who were CW competing with in the US broadcasting market? And, would LIV still be broadcast on the LIV website and Youtube within the US? If it is, then I can imagine CW wouldn't have to pay an awful lot for the privilege ?

They’ve not paid anything for it, they’ll share ad revenue with LIV.

Not sure what the implications of that would be for YT streaming in the US, but for the ROW, it doesn’t have a significant impact.
I’m not exactly gonna pop down to WALMART or Hobby Lobby from my location here in Blighty. ;-)

Apart from their own production costs

Also the reach of CW in the US is not that great

Guess they will put in on after one tree hill or Smallville repeats

Oh look, Phil's here to urinate on my LIV bonfire again :ROFLMAO:

The fact that it's on a free to air TV network in the USA, as well as all the other platforms it was already on around the rest of the World - has to be step forward doesn't it?

Of course LIV are paying their production costs - the whole thing is still massively in it's infancy - and AS IF the CW network would pay the production costs when the product goes all around the world, CW have an exclusive deal for the US ONLY. At the moment, I'd imagine LIV are happy keeping everything in house - the production was largely well received last year.

sorry what other platforms around the world is it available on ?

What’s the difference between broadcasting on the CW app for free and broadcasting on You Tube and the website for free ?‍♂️

What have LIV gained ?

They are broadcasting on a network which is the US equivalent of E4 and which doesn’t do sports

Can’t keep using the “in its infancy” excuse when you look at multiple other sports that have created new tournaments new tours and have managed to get it all sorted before start up

Cricket and T20 is always used as a comparison for a shorter snappier version to grab younger viewers- all the new comps managed to get sponsers , media deals

The recent 100 is a perfect example- it has it issues but they got major sponsers and media deals - is LIV that toxic that it just couldn’t get things sorted and still struggles now

Who gives a damn
It's a funny one, from what I could see, those watching liv weren't bothered about it going to TV, it seemed to be those who were not interested in watching that kept banging on about it not being on TV.
So will be interesting to see if it makes any difference in the good ol' US of A.

Come on Phil, it’s not that toxic as they’ve Patrick Reed….oh wait

The CW app is restricted to the USA, and they're not broadcasting on it for free, as they'll get ad revenue.

A TV deal on a non subscription broadcaster - something most other golf tours don't seem to have.

Didn't do Sports

And so will LIV

The PGAT and to a lesser degree the DPWT have managed to convince a substantial number or people LIV is toxic, and if the court documents are accurate, have tried to do this by co-ercion of media partners. It's a tag that will take time to overcome, but you can see already that the general perception is changing.
