just wondering if your clubs get busy. if i tee off between 8am and 1 there is always a long wait on each tee with a round taking 4.5 to 5 hours. we get stacked on the par 3's (sometimes 3 groups). after 1 a round will only take 3.5

is this normal.

All clubs will have a busy time, some longer than others. Our busy time is between 8 and 10. After that, during the week you can pretty much rock-up and go out. Weekends are all booked up until about 2 normally.
Clubs that don't have booked times run the risk of having a large queue on the first. I bet it doesn't happen that often but if there's 4-5 groups all wanting to go off at the same time then a wait of half an hour is inevitable.

We don't have booked times and you can roll up and go off anytime (except for club matches and comps which reserve the tee). If it is packed you can go off the 10th ahead of others coming round and then alternate.

The regular members usually have their own groups and at peak times most members know what the times these tend to go out and so can plan their own round around these. Of course they are also welcome to join in any of these as well

4.5-5 hrs?
Thats horrendous.
I would be tearing out my h...
Well, you know what I mean
Are there gaps between groups by the end or does the first group out control everyone's speed of play?
