I Am Terrible In The Wind And I'm Sick Of It

which holes?
First time playing it so can't remember exactly. What's the one with the big mounds in front of the green? Hit a bad drive into the right hand rough, got onto the fairway and still couldn't reach! Hardest hole I've ever played! Can't imagine it's that easy playing it downwind either with the oob behind!

11 the alps. i always find that a relatively easy hole, though because its a sloping green front to back not much chance of stopping the ball. last time i played the club champs there it was driver 3 wood 7 iron

How's it an easy hole when you had to hit that into it? What is it like 360 yards? I'm ok with cross winds but straight into/ behind I find brutal. Need to learn a more linksy swing maybe

the whole course is considerably easier that it was say 5 years ago. every fairway was lined with broom, so it you missed the fairway, you usually lost the ball. 11 had broom all down the right hand site from the back of the 10th all the way to the green. even if you cant reach in two on in 3 for the back of the green gives you an uphill put, at worst a 5, but into the wind there isn't that typical. id offer to have a game because there are a couple of holes where if you play a certain way its a bit easier. but hardly played in months, and would def struggle to play to my handicap of 2.6 :ROFLMAO:

I appreciate that but it was a one off trip and it's a bit far away! Really enjoyed the course though! Get what you mean, I lost a ball just right of the fairway on the par 4 where some guy had a hole in 1. Thought no danger there and nowhere to be seen!

the course is almost unrecognizable from what it was like. an American friend came over 2 years ago to play again for the first time in 17 years. we both played Tain for the fist time together and joined at the same time we walked off the course. the course was a blaze of yellow as every fairway was lined with gorse.
