How many water hazards on your course?

It is Jezz - obscured by the slightly raised green and also the next ladies tee.

To find it you have to be 3 clubs long on a 210yd par 3 - if you really have hit it in there you should be forced to NR and return to the clubhouse without delay, a 1 shot penalty drop would not do it justice!!

Ah, the one I remember from Brighton & Hove was about 150 yards up just off the line of play on 175-yard par 3, so the ideal spot for a wide selection of slices, mis-hits and duffs

Not sure the exact number but I'd say over half have water hazards, although mostly they are if you are wayward off the tee down one side as there are a few streams running inbetween fairways. The par 3 7th is similar in that the water feature is well short of the green and only really catches balls if you shank it very short and right. Only 4-5 holes have water in the way.

I could be here all day counting our water hazards.:eek: When we had major drainage work done about ten years ago, ditches were put in on virtually every hole. Normally they are dry, but this spring they had water in them for the first time since I became a member. The majority of the hazards are tucked well away so don't really come in to play.

We have four proper ponds, and staked ditches on all but but a couple of the par 3's. A lot of holes have more than one ditch. Apart from when Justone plays the course most of the ditches are not in play.:whistle:

No yellow stakes and our only red ones along our soak-away pit. No wonder I get confused on what I should do when playing away and faced with dropping from water hazards - I never do it.

btw - don't the postings on this thread illustrate perfectly one of the beauties and glories of our game. Yes - a round of golf comprises 18 holes - but our sets of 18 holes can be soooo completely different in chararcter. Every course a brand new challenge - now tell me the same about a squash (yaaawn) court :)

No water unfortunately, the one major thing I think our course lacks, but then again, it would be another thing for them to look after and there not that brilliant at doing that now!

We have:

a ditch that runs across the 3rd, about 50 yards off the tee;
no more water until the 9th, and that's not really in play;
a red-staked ditch that runs down the right of 10 and 11, and one on the left of 15, but I've never seen water in either of them, even last year;
a marsh to the right of 14 and 15;
the ditch that runs across the 3rd then comes into play again on either side of 16, but runs underneath the fairway, and again off the tees on 17 and 18, but you'd need to hit a seriously bad one to find it on any of these holes.

Water affects 8 holes but some of them more than once - example is our 15th where you drive over a ditch which then veers off to travel down the side of the fairway if you try and take the corner off. Then there is a pond if you get a big carry and pull it a little so at least three chances of getting wet. Thats not including a staked area thats more of a bog in winter (and spring this year !)

Agree, previous course has one pond in the rough on a single hole, current one is like a water park in comparison yet only 1 shot diff in SSS

Hole 1: 2
Hole 2 : 2
Hole 3: 1
Hole 6: 2
Hole 7: 2
Hole 9: 1
Hole 12: 1
Hole 13: 1
Hole 14: 1
hole 15: 2
Hole 18: 1

So 16 in Total

2, a pond on the 1st (par4) but it doesn't really come into play as its only about 150yrd carry. But theirs a narrow stream on the 18th just infront of the green,so if you don't hit a good tee shot you need to lay up short with your 2nd shot. (Ruined my score card on more than one occasion)
