The club I played at for nearly 20 years had a par 5 the 8th, which if you could drive it say 240+ you’d catch a downslope and bound down to a 9 iron or 8 iron at most into the green. Wide fairway, not much trouble, couple bunkers around a pretty big and flat green. It was a joke it stayed as a par 5 for so long, as far as I know it still is.
Must’ve eagled it 50 times at least. Not sure the reasoning, the course was par 70 which I think they liked having it that at least.
Thing was there was at least a handful of par 4’s 10x harder. Strange set up but always nice picking up eagles and birdies pretty often.
