as far as family is concerned, my kids all grown. my partner and I have an oddball relationship that works for us, she does not understand why I have this passion for golf but accepts that I do and is prepared to make way for it, so I'm careful not to overdue the occasions where she might need to.

as to work, this is where I have had to think about this recently. my boss wants me to take on some extra responsibilities, one of which involves a bi-annual meeting with the customer. this is likely to fall in July or August - my first reaction? Is this going to interfere with the Belfry and what can I do to ensure that it doesn't.

I gave 25 years total committment to one job; I've been almost as committed in this one up to the current project, which I loathe. right now - golf comes before work.

From the age of 15-23 it came before everything, hence why my grades were so poor. Also poor play back then used to affect my moods/ruin my weekend.

Now nothing comes before my family and being a father to my 2 daughters in particular takes priority over everything. They are only 3 years old and 6 months old so I feel this is the time to devote to them untill they become moody teenagers and they dont want to spend time with there dad anymore.

Golf is pretty important now as in a weeks time im going to be making our living from it when I start working for myself but playing golf has to come after these 2 things which is why I dont play that often.

Im hoping once the light nights are here, after I have finished my days work in the garage/workshop and put the kids to bed I may be able to sneak for a few crafty 9 holes in the evening twice a week. ;)

After everything surrounding the family is prioritised then there is Golf. Its pretty high on my list of things after family though, I only wish I could play it more often.
