We had an interesting conversation on Saturday in our clubhouse amongst our usual squad. With their being no loyality in memberships anymore by having no joining fees and members moving from club to club or just relying on the groupon deal type of thing for their golf fix it has now became apparent clubs can no longer be guarenteed that the current membership will stay the same negating long term planning and living year to year to make ends meet.
We struggled to think up good ways to get extra cash in the coffers but some to mention would be locating a telecoms mast somewhere on the course as this generates rent, storage tanks to store rainwater, solar energy panels. All of these would cost some outcome too and wonder if they would be cost effective but certainly it must be very tough running a club when money is so tight.
So to the title, how does your course make/save money?
