Golf Random Irritations

Most seem to love it...I hate it..
The Build Up to a major sporting event....right now it's The Masters.
Love the 4 rounds, quite like the Par 3 contest..everything else can go in the bin.
Watching players on the range, chatting and speculating on scores, who's going to play well etc etc etc.....just No.
Waste of time for me....can't be doing with any of it.
Just don't put it on then? I have seen none of what you're talking about.

You aren't downloading the Masters app and watching the shot tracking on the range, then?

Haven’t played golf with my friend for a long time. Finally gets the green light from his missus for a round in the morning, sun will be out, perfect day for it. Flight gets delayed and he’ll not be home in time.

I usually stay well clear and probably only watch the final few groups on Sunday. Just find everything else really tedious.

I'm sure the wording is exaggerated for effect, but if you have kids you really can't just waltz off to golf whenever you like without a word.

Depends if your still married to the mother I guess 😂

I won't name him, but when we were up at Ganton on Monday, a fairly popular DPWT player who we'll call for the sake of anonymity Stan Gavins hit a tee shot on the 2nd that went left, and dropped just over the top of some gorse. Me and buggerlugs were stood on the 15th tee about 10 yards away, and although we couldn't see their tee box, Jamie could here the guys teeing off, and he spotted the errant Titleist as it dropped into the rough stuff. We quickly headed to the area and with no other spectators in the vicinity it was a good job the youth had his wits about him as he was able to locate the ball tucked under the gorse just as Dan..., sorry Stan arrived. "Have you found it", asked the ref "Think so", says I, "Titleist 3, sorry a Titleist 1.. 3 dots" I reply. "That's the one" says Dan Stan

His caddy who I won't name, but lets just say he achieved some levels of stardom from appearing on a fly on the wall television show about some young pissheads in Newcastle and has since gone on to create a solid following playing golf and vlogging it on You Tube, hands him a wedge, Stan proceeds to chop one out on the fairway and off they pop...

No eye contact with the boy...., no "thanks" ....,no "cheers young en", nothing, nada, zilch, nowt..

"Bit rude that" says the boy - and it was.

Shan't be watching much Gaz's golf in the foreseeable - sithi.

A week ago I was ready to take a long walk on a short pier. A couple of bad practice sessions and the last couple of rounds I have scrambled like a drowning man (successfully) and my handicap will be as low in the morning that it has been in 2 years. ARRRRRGGGGG.

Stupid isn't it. I couldn't get anywhere near single figures for years. Changed the swing, broke the glass ceiling and down to 7.6. Been playing inconsistently in the last few rounds but still putting in 30+ points and despite a flaky short game finding a way to get it round without too many car crash holes

Every year I get into arguments with people on twitter when they slag Sky off for not showing enough golf, at The Masters. They show wall to wall coverage of The Open from 6.30am, if they could they would.
