Golf Random Irritations

People harping on about how their x iron isn't a real x iron as the loft is wrong. If it says 7 on the sole, it is a 7 iron. When asked what you hit on a certain hole, do these people say " Well I held the club with a 7 on but I actually hit a 6". Getting boring now!

Email from the club to advise that from 1st of Jan that the intermediate rate I have been on is being scrapped. Membership to go from £850 to £1500 from renewal.

Now in the process of thinking if somewhere else is a better option with better facilities and practice area.

It annoys me even more, when people ask what I hit and I say a 7 iron and they look at me disbelievingly so I have to explain that it's a 50 year old 7 iron which roughly equates to a modern XYZ (insert number of choice).

It doesn't annoy me when I get asked, "What did you hit?"
I reply very quickly with the loft figure. That is, or should be, more helpful to them.
I doubt it would help many.
It wouldn't surprise me if the majority haven't the first clue what loft any of their clubs are with the possible exception of the driver..

Is the correct answer. People neither know nor care. To 99% of golfers a 7 iron is a 7 iron. The loft differences between eras and mfrs does not register.

If you’re giving people the loft of the club you hit, shouldn’t you be adding the length as well as that can impact distance?

Bought replacement spikes and a wrench kit for my Eccos. Still can't get the old, broken spikes out for love nor money. And now I've damaged them further in trying.
