Drawn with a fella in Saturdays comp, pleasant enough 21 capper who used rangefinder on every chip shot, even when he was literally 3” off one green on a close mown fringe

The irritation… he stiffed it to kick in distance with a high loft wedge!

Had lunch with my usual PP today and we were talking about our golf and I was saying how frustrated I am with my game at the minute. So many rounds that offer so much promise only for me to lose it and end up 6 or 7 over. With my index at 6.7 and getting 7 shots around our place it’s like I’ve stalled through distraction or stupidity.

Yesterday was massively frustrating.

Nice lunch though 😀
Me likewise Greig. Playing off 7.2 at the moment I only get a 95% PH 6 shots off our yellows but I keep on chucking in a couple of stupid (they are never clever) doubles. So typically Saturday what could easy have been a 4 or 5 over ends up 8. I feel your frustration.

My silver lining is that I know my front tee matchplay competitiveness is good off a CH of 7.

Purchased some new FJ Tour Alpha 2.0 shoes last week. Three times I have worn them and this weekend the leather eye has split straight through the shoe. Not the best start with them.

Pulled a drive into the trees yesterday, I had two escape options, one easy and one hard - having gone for the easy option I pulled it and hit the most spindly branch and the ball came back into the trees. I then fatted the next attempt before chipping out. with my ball ending up 6ft from my provisional, much to the delight of my PP's.
