Golf insurance now required, i think.

It's time i got insured after hearing today that one of our long serving members is being sued . A newbie member claims he was hit by the long serving members golf ball.
The newbie has since left the club.

So what company and what cover, recommendations please. :fore:

Check with your household insurer to see whether you already have personal liability insurance that would cover it!

What I have been thinking even after suggesting this in post #5 above which has been followed by a flurry of subscriptions to 'specialist' policies. Many 'dedicated' policies are twice as expensive, for no better and sometime lesser cover. Also if you have household cover to some extent then you've got a potential conflict and battle of T&Cs should you need to claim.

Still, each to their own!

Simon.

Personally I have Golf care which seems pretty cheap for the peace of mind.

I happen to live across a road from a course and have been hit on the shoulder myself whilst gardening and we've had several cars damaged - what's interesting is that not one golfer has actually came across and admitted doing any damage !! The guy who hit me told me to "F off as I was interrupting his game..." when I tried to speak to him about it.

I guess if you never admit liability you wont need to be insured !
