At my club, nobody would refuse but there may be some ribbing about it.Who here would refuse to attend the flag if a playing partner politely requested you to do so?

I'd just instruct my caddie to do it.Who here would refuse to attend the flag if a playing partner politely requested you to do so?
Why would you lose friends ?How to lose friends![]()
And if you're losing friends over that then you probably need new friends anyway.....Why would you lose friends ?

Maybe acquaintancesAre you assuming he has friends?
Do you ask for the flag to be attended these days @Voyager EMH ? Just wondering.I would have thought that by asking to have the flag attended you would find out which are true golfing friends and are worth keeping.
Any who refuse are worth losing, never really friends in the first place, and you should be pleased to have filtered them out.
I offer occasionally. Maybe someone I'm playing with who likes the flag out....but is a good distance away and is kind of flip flopping on whether he wants it in or out. I've yet to have someone take me up on it over the last few years....it's fallen out of fashion. Seems a smart thing to do though for a flag out person......you get the best of both worlds. The flag is there to help see the hole/slope and it is out when the ball gets there.Do you ask for the flag to be attended these days @Voyager EMH ? Just wondering.
I did not do so yesterday.Do you ask for the flag to be attended these days @Voyager EMH ? Just wondering.
If you preffer to have the flag out but for some reason you can’t see the hole properly then it’s a reasonable request and still an option under the rules of golf.!Do you ask for the flag to be attended these days @Voyager EMH ? Just wondering.
With aimpoint they walk all over their own line anyway, you might as well have a jig whilst getting the flag outI say to myself “fair enough…no big deal”.
Obviously standing on another’s line is to be avoided - though tbh with firm greens and given we are able to tap down spike marks etc…I’m not convinced it makes a lot of difference to most players putts - but it remains 100% etiquette to be observed. As @Arthur Wedge says…let common sense prevail.
I don't think I've read anyone would refuse , youd have to be a knob to ask these days though.
Ooh, that really motivates me to ask someone soon.I don't think I've read anyone would refuse , you'd have to be a knob to ask these days though.
Charming!
So hardly at all then given the amount of golf being played. It's so weird that people feel the need to pretend it's still a thing.I've seen it 4 or 5 times this week at RP....
I am not, but to call anyone a kn*b for doing so is just you being a kn*b!I'm not asking , no one I know is asking , hell even the pros hardly bother, how many times did you see it in the open ?
Are you asking still ?
I kind of like this warped way of thinking......so.....with your way of thinking I can ignore any rule that happens "hardly at all"? Yeah baby!.....I like this!! Wait until the guys I play with hear it's ok to ignore rules that hardly ever happen. So hardly at all then given the amount of golf being played. It's so weird that people feel the need to pretend it's still a thing.
