Dundonald links- back to black Open

CSS around the 80 mark?

Way too long off that yardage to be enjoyable for all but a handful of golfers in my view.

Could be a few putting in no returns.

i dread to think how long that would take, played an open at Spey valley that was 10 and lower and that was over 7000. took almost 5 hours.

never played the course, if it wasn't so far away i would give it a go.

Spey Valley's a beast, isn't it Patrick, but a good part of the round is taken up walking those distances between the greens and tees. Still my favourite inland course in Scotland, I've played I reckon though. Gorgeous scenery.

Played Dundonald in a good breeze once with some of the boys on here, too, and it can be "a challenge" to say the least.

it can be john, played it last year for the first time since we played there before the Castle Stuart meet and its matured a bit since then.

was a slog off the back tee's, i was hitting 18 deg hybrids on a lot of 2nd shots, was a bit wet though

Had some good days golfing down there John in tricky conditions, its a course i really like. Spey have played once in the sleet with you guys, I'm going back to play it this year tho in the summer

Yeah John it was ,actually watched that video the other day, think the last time i was there was nearly 4 years ago if i mind right, how time flies

A cracking track. I played Western Gailes on Monday and wasn't half as impressed. Dundonald in the wind and off the tips will be a 'challenge'. We kicked off last season there. The wind got up and the 4iron was hardly out of my hand

Are you serious suggesting Dundonald is better than Western Gailes?

I was just reading that and had exactly the same thoughts. Don't get me wrong, I think Dundonald is a great track but Western is on another level imo

Dundonald off the back tees in the wind is just cricket score stuff, last time I played it after British boys it ripped us apart
