Would people accept a a different dress code for social golf as opposed to competative games?

Not for me.
Golf is golf, whether I am playing "socially" or "competetive".
I won't even wear jeans or trainers whenever I visit the driving range....which is very rare (if not never!)

But those who disagree would surley join the premier league ... With that dress sense it must be the non league rules you found (tongue firmly in cheek)

DAVEM nice course HEATON PARK played it in a NW comp 15 years ago have they still got the big ravine on the long par 3 tough tee shot that,as for knocking munis i was stating an obvious difference between a private members club and a pay as you play muni,most munis don't seem to bother if you have never swung a club before are not ok with the rules and etiquette of the game and most seem to turn a blind eye to what goes on after they have paid as most people who play on a muni seem to be casual golfers and play now and again is it any wonder they don't seem to bother to dress accordingly and basically wear what they want and if not challenged prior to playing never seem to change their attitude.

It makes my blood simmer more when people cannot take time to construct proper sentences, then to worry what others are wearing......lol

Yes Papyt they still have it. Great hole that. Funny its one hole I par every time I play it. Not my home course but it is only 2 mins away from me. So handy for a last minute round.

Yes understand what you ment. But they are pretty keen at Heaton Park. I have seen them turn the one bag boyyos and football shorted away.
