If you want to wear jacket and tie that is fine, but not compulsory. Mobile phones are forbidden on the course and clubhouse. If you must use them, do so in your car. These are club rules not mine so no moaning!
The following tees can be walked to. Please note we are playing from YELLOW tees.
1,2,3,4,5,6,8,13,14,15,16,17,18
2, 3 4, 5 6, 8 Walk via 1st tee
13, 14, 15,16, 17 via 18th fairway
Please check full details on the Starting Hole Guide available at the Reception Desk.
Tees 7,9,10,11, need to be driven to if you don’t fancy a long walk! Instructions/map will be available on the day. Return to the main road and turn right down Station Road. At crossroads turn right again onto Hambledon Road. Turn first right onto Potters Hill and immediate right into car park by the 7th Hole. Allow 10 – 15 minutes to reach these holes.
Please leave clubs in car when you arrive and change shoes in car as well.
Score cards. You will need to make out with either your real or forum name and add your current exact handicap index. Also, check the Course Handicap Table available at the Reception Desk for your exact playing handicap. (i.e., a 13.8 handicap index will have a Course Handicap of 15).
Every player must complete a separate card. We don’t want four scores on one card as it slows the scorers’ job down. It is a stableford, full handicap, and you need to mark your partners gross score and stableford points on each hole. You should also put your own score on the card, gross and stableford points, so you can agree your card before signing. Player and scorer to sign, just as you would in a competition at your club. Nearly everyone is a member of a club so knows what to do, but if you are unsure ask one of your playing partners. At the end of the round hand in your cards to our scorers, Phil and Sean before drinks/showers etc. Cards must be handed in, however bad. We do not want to have to chase any cards.
To avoid slow play, you must pick up when you can no longer score on a hole. We do not want any 9 net 8 for 0 points on the card.
Sorry for heavy handed approach, but we need to make the scorers job as easy as possible to have the results well before we finish eating. The full results will be posted on the forum after the day, and it will just be winning scores that will be announced at West Surrey.
Lunch is from 3.30pm and if you all sit down at a table you will then be called up. Meal is two-course, and the food at West Surrey is great. If you are unable to stay for lunch you will unfortunately not get any refund, as we have already booked and are committed to pay for all food.
We expect auction, prize giving from 5.00pm, and a finish at around 6.00pm.
Finally, good luck, play well, have plenty of laughs, and make it a day that our Charity Day Founder, Rickg, would have been proud of.
