"She died of a fever and no one could save her."
It might be a myth but heard many years ago it's about giving up smoking. Written by Prince.Your wedding song was Nothing Compares 2 U?? I always thought it was a sad song about someone dying or breaking up a relationship.
And I just read that he wrote it about his housekeeper who stopped working for him, haha. He never revealed the real meaning himself I don't think. It might be a myth but heard many years ago it's about giving up smoking. Written by Prince.
It is, I think, but the sentiments of the song meant everythingYour wedding song was Nothing Compares 2 U?? I always thought it was a sad song about someone dying or breaking up a relationship.

Oooh, go on.. I've got a few off the top of my head already.…thought for new thread…songs that sound they should mean one thing but in fact have a very different, sometimes totally opposite, meaning. Indeed that have a real meaning that makes the song totally inappropriate for the occasion on which it is used
My first thought was a song written in 1952 that became a UK number one for Chuck Berry in 1972. It was a bit obvious though.Oooh, go on.. I've got a few off the top of my head already.

Prince wrote and recorded the song, Sinead O'Connor covered it. He wasn't a fan of her version. Made her name though.Never heard that before, I thought the song was all about her mother.
