I am 18 and use the Burner 2.0s.... Can't go wrong as they are forgiving and give you the distance...

Wow man some distances that are exceeding the forum norm. 4 irons going 250 yards but not a struggle, easy, I think I will give up this game as I must be the worlds biggest wimp at 6 ft and 18.5 stone.

Tell him to go to a range or well stocked pro shop where he can see the balls travel rather than hitting into a net. What is one mans meat is another's poison and all that so he could get recommended for any number of clubs but only he'll know (along with some advice from a good pro) which are the ones for him

Just got a set of mizuno jpx 825, great clubs
But i would recommend he go hit some, see what he likes, and then if he's on a budget browse ebay.
If you know what you want then you can get some huge bargains.

It's hard to say what would be best for your BiL as it depends too much on other factors. Best thing is to go to a good stockist and try some of the models on offer to see what suits him.
