Where is everyone. It seems very quiet on here lately. Is it end of season blues or is everyone trying to squeeze as many holes in before the clocks change. One whiff of a guy allegedly back playing days after an op and the board goes into meltdown but Woods back to imperious form, the Walker cup team getting a good hiding and new kit launches and its very very quiet.

Its had its moments recently but - yeah - it has been a little quiet.

Start thinking!!

Just looked at the World Rankings. Tiger has lost more points in 2007/8 (367.42) than Stricker has now (341.58). And seeing as how Tiger's gained 530.40 this year he's back to more than double the 2nd place average. Proof I think that he's not finished yet.

well in the north west were having a bit of a weather change !!!! i dont want to put the mockers on it but it's not rained for about 6 days, so i guess everybody up here are squeezing them extra rounds in before the light goes, well i certainly am anyway.... i plan on playing as much as i can up until the end of october, then slow it down to once a week and hammer the gym to come back playing and looking like tiger ( apart form the skin clour )in the spring ...

I have come to the conclusion my inconsistencies on the course probably have alot to do with my fitness . so i plan on putting that one to bed in 2010 ....

Agreed, i don't know how anyone can say he is finished. Since his return from injury he has played 18 matches. Won 7 of those. Came second a further 3 times & finished in the top ten on a further 5 occasions.
He has only 'not performed' in three of those tournaments including one missed cut, an eleventh place and a seventeenth place.
I wish i was that 'finished'. :D

Of that we have little doubt Homer.

I wonder how Tiger sees this year,to me he has had a superb year but as we all know he will be more than disappointed that he has not added to the major tally.

Irony doesn't spread to the north then!

I think Woods willstill look back at the season and think probably 8/10. OK he didn't win a major and will certainly feel that the USPGA in particular slipped through the fingers but in general terms he's comeback from injury, revamped his swing and for the last four months or so has been a dominant force in every event he's played in

Having watched Tiger playing at the weekend his round on saturday was quite simply amazing. He started the round with a bogey and went on to have a further 8 birdies and 1 eagle (and could have had a lot more). after his bogey start the commentators where saying he would never have done this in 2000 but by the end where saying it was the best they had ever seenhim.

I think he will regret the US PGA championship this year cos he threw away what was a sizeable lead to him. but he will be pleased how he has come back from injury.

But is he the best player that has ever lived?? or does he have to get to 19 majors??

So what does the Winter period hold. Range sessions fixing the faults of 2009 and getting ready for next year or out each time the course is open and one mans battle against his demons and the elements

For me I'll be playing only in comptitions as I've a long road ahead trying to work on my tempo and make next years swing shorter, slower and smoother. I'm not a huge fan of 3 or 4 layers plus waterproof hitting off sodden fairway to a tiny temporary perched on the edge of the fairway.

Oh an btw how the early posters made me laugh. All the threads are relatively quiet at the moment but write "One whiff of a guy allegedly back playing days after an op" and the same old faces who looked to stir things about suddenly pop up and look to bite! Priceless!

trouble with plans is that they all fail within 30 seconds of their implementation.

ideal is a package of lessons and play whenever I get the chance, snow and floods permitting.

Without doubt a putting lesson. In an ideal world (if finances allow) a few lessons would be great.

I'm sure there is something that needs tweeking with my driver. When I hit it it goes but far too often it slices, and once the slice starts it doesn't usually stop.

Would be nice to get a lesson with the new irons (when they arrive) but not essential asI'm happy with my swing at the minute.

Oh, short game, short game and short game too!

Would be a shame if thats all forummers like you fed on but I can rattle a good yarn if you need it

Strange that. Dodger replies to a post by Hippy and Homer jumps in as if it's personal and raises an old sore that he alternately wanted to shut down and perpetuate.

btw Homer. I didn't realise that you were still off work on sick leave after your op. Only 16 or so posts in 3 hours - that's good going for someone recuperating. :p

Actually day off for family reasons but thanks for the interest. Sorry pants but its a forum so I'll carry on posting. Good of you to keep score though - you'll be pretty busy as I aint going anywhere!
